Hello, Metaverse gamers! Fuel your cars with high octane gasoline and buckle up for the Ready Player Motorsports Review. Soon, the eGamers.io Guild members will be able to join the racetracks as we have teamed up with RPM and secured a number of vehicles. Today’s review will highlight several aspects of the game and what Ready Player Motorsports will look like when it launches in June 2022.

Before we continue with the Ready Player Motorsports Review, consider the following.

Begin of The Ready Player Motorsports Review

Let’s begin the review with some basic questions and answers to get you familiarized with the game fast.

What is Ready Player Motorsports?

Ready Player Motorsports is a first-person racing game with play-to-earn rewards and player-owned assets using NFTs. The game’s first stage features cars from previous eras that became legendary in the racing space.
RPM as a driving game will be skilled-based, and players will be required to own an NFT car and pay an entrance fee using the RPM Token to enter a race. RPM Token is based on Polygon and used across the ecosystem as gasoline for the racing cars, the token to pay for car upgrades, and as the medium to reward players.

Is Ready Player Motorsports free-to-play?

While the game is play-to-earn, it’s not free to play. If you are looking to play Ready Player Motorsports, you have two options. 1) Mint an NFT Car for the fixed price of 100 MATIC through the minting page. 2) Seek a free scholarship from a partnered guild with a revenue split.

What Devices Are Compatible With Ready Player Motorsports?

Ready Player Motorsports is going to launch this June for Windows. The first stage will include a single-player, while multiplayer mode will follow later. RPM will release an Android and iOS version in due time, with VR also planned for down the road.

Ready Player Motorsports Gameplay

Ready Player Motorsports features the typical first-person racing gameplay experience with a demo already out for everyone to try. You will have to use your driving skills on the racetrack to finish in the top 5 and get a reward in RPM Tokens.

Besides driving, there are multiple other gameplay aspects that you will make use of, such as car upgrades using Custom Shops, refueling your car from Gas Stations, or hanging out at Skyboxes, the VIP area. All of these services offer passive earnings to the owners and are going to be sold in a later date.

Let’s continue the Ready Player Motorsports Review with the Dynamic Car NFTs.

Dynamic Car NFTs

The team of Ready Player Motorsports has created “the first of its kind” in a racing game, Dynamic NFTs that use unique smart contracts to store car upgrades on the chain, thus, making sure the value of the NFT cars is transferred to the new owner when sold.

In a nutshell, everything will be recorded on-chain, from car upgrades to performance and leaderboard positions, so there is complete transparency of both upgrades and gameplay.

With the first car series being available for minting, RPM is looking to kickstart the game using a nostalgic and vintage design from the past decades. The game might introduce more cars with different race tracks that could offer an alternative gameplay experience, such as off-road racing with modern vehicles, etc.

The Osmoto – Mach1 Race Car Series

Oscar Motorworks created the Osmoto-Mach1 race car for Ready Player Motorsports. The design of the Osmoto – Mach1 race car is very familiar to those vintage racing cars used back in 1930 but fear not; they are equipped with modern performance components.

In addition, the partnered guilds and projects have limited-edition branded Mach1 cars. These are also featured in the single-player mode using AI. You will have to drive against them.

Right now, if you mint a Ready Player Motorsport car, it goes straight to your Ethereum wallet, but in the coming weeks, along with the purchase, you will be able to customize the look of your car, as explained in the video below.

Users who bought cars before the customization update will also be able to customize them.

NFT Car Upgrades

There are many components that you will be able to upgrade using the RPM token. Keep in mind that there will be “leagues” in Ready Player Motorsports. This ensures you won’t race against a super-car with zero chances of winning or a player with remarkable skills.

Now, let’s have a look at the available NFT Car upgrades. Each of these components can be upgraded up to five times to get maximum performance.

  • Engine: 1-5
  • Suspension: 1-5
  • Steering: 1-5
  • Turbo Charger: Y/N
  • Electric ( Only applicable to Coorest NFT Tree Owners)
  • Nitrous: Y/N

The Racetrack

Today's review will highlight several aspects of the game and what Ready Player Motorsports will look like when it launches in June 2022.
The Ready Player Motorsports’ Racetrack

This is the first racetrack where you will be racing. Ready Player Motorsports will introduce more racetracks in the future with different terrains and designs that will require a unique driving approach from your side.

As you can see from the image above, it’s divided into various sections such as partnered project areas, the Skyboxes, fuel stations, etc.

Passive Earning NFT Assets

Below I will break down the benefits of owning gameplay-related assets. These will go on sale later, with Fuel Stations available on OpenSea for a floor price of 1.5ETH.

The NFTs you will find below earn 10% from all race prizes and entrance fees. The RPM tokens are distributed as follows.

  • Community Pool: 20%
  • Fuel Stations: 10%
  • Intellectual Property: 30%
  • Skyboxes: 40%

NFT Skyboxes

There will be 400 NFT Skyboxes per RPM racetrack, and each one will share equally in the fees generated by the races.

Benefits of owning a Skybox:

  • They can be upgraded and sold.
  • Earn race entry fees.
  • Earn % of race prizes.

NFT Fuel Stations

Fuel Stations will be an entrance gate for racers as every player must get that juice to race. Fuel for races will range between $0 & $100.

There are only 20 Fuel Stations in the Alpha Collection of game assets. Additional Gas Stations will be released when a new collection of cars comes out.

Benefits of owning a Fuel Station:

  • Customize and upgrade them to have more value in the secondary market.
  • Rare asset in the game.
  • Earn RPM tokens.

NFT Custom Shops

These NFTs will offer passive income as they are the only way for players to upgrade their racing cars.

Benefits of Owning a Custom Shop

  • Earn RPM from in-game car upgrades.
  • Upgrade and sell.

NFT Giraffes

These lovely animals are everywhere in Ready Player Motorsports metaverse. They came unexpectedly and became permanent residents.

To cover their needs for food and care, Ready Player Motorsports has partnered with Extinction Partnerz to raise the needed funds. All proceeds go to the real-life giraffe charity, the Giraffe Conservation Foundation.

Owning an NFT Giraffe is for a good cause and won’t bring any passive income.

Scholarship Program

Ready Player Motorsports has attracted several growing guilds and projects, with some being well-known in the space of play-to-earn gaming. It’s only natural and makes total sense to have scholarships in this game. The first mint series will be only 1,000 cars (excluded partners’ cars), making the entrance for new players limited, thus making them scarce.

If the price of NFT cars gets appreciated, scholarships will be a must to eliminate the high entry barrier for new players who won’t be able to afford a car. At least until new car mints come in.

And no, this not me telling you go buy a car because they will be worth more, never spend more than you can afford to loose and this is not an investment advice, it's just my thought.

Scholarship system is still in the making so we don’t have any further information to share with you.

A Carbon Neutral Metaverse

With the help of Coorest, Ready Player Motorsports offsets any carbon emission created by the production of the game, maintaining a zero-carbon emission metaverse.

Coorest also has a series of Mech-1 branded cars in the game and its own corner on the first racetrack. In addition, the game will feature Venly Trees, where real fig trees are being planted in Zaragoza, Spain, on land purchased from the sale of the NFTrees.

RPM Token Explained

RPM is an ERC-20 token on Polygon and is used as the primary in-game currency for Ready Player Motorsports.

It is also used for NFT purchases, gameplay entry fees, in-game purchases, and, of course, as a gameplay reward.

RPM Total supply: 1,000,000,000. (One Billion)

RPM is the only token of the game; Ready Player Motorsports does not use a dual-token economy.

How To Earn RPM

For the players, the primary source of income will be racing. In the AMA held in our telegram group today, the CEO of Ready Player Motorsport, Michael Corkery, when asked about the Tokenomics he stated:

We want to make sure that people who are playing the game as a source of income, actually earn something valuable. Our focus is on the player who supports themselves and their families by play-to-earn gaming that is our first responsibility therefore, we need to make the token secure and sustainable.

Michael also added:

For a player playing 8 hours, they can expect to earn $100 give or take, as the multiplayer versions evolve, we can have higher-stakes races.

Earnings from races depend on the total RPM that players deposited for the particular race, and distribution go as follows:

  • 1st Place: 60%
  • 2nd Place: 40%
  • 3rd Place: 10%
  • 4th Place: 5%
  • 5th Place: 5%
  • 6-10 Place: 0

As you can understand, you will have to finish in the Top 5 place to break even or make a profit. There will be free races also, but we don’t know if there will be any “Energy” system to allow you to play for free and earn a portion of the rewards.

Besides racing, there are various other ways to earn RPM. What kind of Ready Player Motorsport would this be without mentioning all of them? You will be able to:

  1. Stake RPM.
  2. Participate in Governance.
  3. Own Passive Income NFT Assets.
  4. Offer scholarships to other players.
  5. Trade NFT Cars & other assets in the marketplace. (Speculation)
  6. Take profits from the token, if the price gets appreciated in the future. (Speculation)

Token Distribution

Below you can see how the RPM token distribution is planned based on the game’s whitepaper.

  • Rewards: 75%
  • Marketing 5%
  • Team 5%
  • Available 15%

Final Thoughts

Ready Player Motorsports belongs to a niche with not much competition. There is currently a gap in Play To Earn racing games with not so many titles available for the players. The demo version of RPM is packed with good graphics, and the NFT Cars have excellent illustrations.

From what I understand, the only actual player burn mechanism is car upgrades which will be a must to stay competitive. Still, I don’t believe this alone would keep a balance between mint and burn. On the other hand, those who invest in passive earning NFTs will also have to spend RPM for the upgrades.

While the races use a wagering system in the RPM distribution section of the Whitepaper, I find this: “Rewards – Payouts to players of RPM and holders of the RPM token.”

I’m not exactly sure how the payout will work, but there are 750 million RPM tokens locked up for rewards with 10% released annually.

The entrance of Guilds is a good sign as it makes sure RPM will begin with a reasonable player base. However, let’s not forget that these players are most likely to create selling pressure since they want to cash out to support their families. RPM will have to seek also players outside the Guilds ecosystem willing to buy Cars and other NFTs.

Overall, I believe Ready Player Motorsports could turn into a fun and decent game. Let the best driver win.
