Roboto Games Raises $15M From A16z to Work on Its Upcoming MMO

Roboto Games, a VC-backed development studio, announced that it has successfully secured $15 million in a series A funding round led by A16z or Andreessen Horowitz, one of the biggest investment firms and in the world.

The money raised will be primarily used to continue developing their upcoming survival/crafting MMO, Foragers, and Fighters, and grow the studio.

Ancient8, Animoca Brands, Gumi Cryptos Capital, Harrison Metal Capital, Makers Fund, Merit Circle, and Transcend also participated in the round. Additionally, angel investors include Daniel James, Jameson Hsu, Pany Haritatos, Phil Chen, Cristian Manea, and others from PKO Angel Syndicate, bringing the total investment to $19.5M.

Roboto Games has a full suite of vets that previously developed hit games that eventually got into the hands of Electronic Arts (EA). Its headquarters is located in California, USA, and they are currently hiring and looking for a diverse array of Tech Artists and Product Marketing Managers.
