ronin waypoint wallet shuts down for good after oct 31 grace period In Brief:

In Brief:

  • Ronin’s Waypoint keyless wallet will be fully sunset when its final grace period closes at 15:00 UTC on Oct. 31, 2026.
  • Only users who have already reported migration problems on X, Discord or through a support ticket are covered by the grace period.
  • Axie Infinity AXS $0.9747 ▼ -4.4% (official site) says assets left in Waypoint wallets after the shutdown may become inaccessible.

The clock is running out on Ronin Waypoint, with eight days to go. According to the network, the Waypoint migration is now in its final stage: a grace period that ends on Oct. 31, 2026, at 15:00 UTC, which is 11:00 ET and 22:00 in Vietnam.

Ronin wrote on X: “After that, Ronin Waypoint will be fully sunset, and the migration will be complete!”

A second post restated the cutoff and pushed users who are still stuck to get in touch. “If you’ve experienced any migration issues, make sure you’ve submitted a support ticket asap so we can assist you,” Ronin said.

What the grace period covers

New migrations don’t get extra time under the grace period. Ronin described its purpose this way: “The Grace Period gives our users time to resolve any outstanding issues raised via X, Discord or Ticket.”

Anyone who runs into an error should submit a report at support.roninchain.com. Ronin wants either a wallet address plus a screenshot, or a transaction hash or failure message. Migrations are handled at wallet.roninchain.com/app/migrating.

People using seed phrase or hardware wallets can ignore the process entirely. For issues with in-game progression or soulbound assets in a specific Ronin game, Ronin said users should contact that game’s team.

Who has to move

Every account set up through Waypoint is affected. Ronin has explained that MPC wallets, keyless wallets and social login accounts on the chain are all Waypoint under different names.

Affected users can go one of two ways. Ronin Stash keeps login by email and social account, and a standard Ronin Wallet uses a seed phrase for security.

Migration isn’t automatic. Axie Infinity told players that “your assets stay in your Waypoint wallet until you transfer them” and cautioned that “Assets left in a Waypoint wallet may become inaccessible.”

Axie’s separate step

Axie Infinity players face an extra step. Their bAXS and badges have to be migrated separately on App.axie, and that requires a seed phrase wallet linked to the player’s Axie account.

Players get one shot at this migration. Badges tied to assets move along with them, and Axie said that once signed, badge and bAXS transfers can’t be undone.

A deadline that kept moving

Ronin first set a Sept. 12 deadline when it announced the change. “Ronin Waypoint is now Ronin Stash! Migrate your tokens and NFTs before September 12th,” the network posted then.

That announcement also explained why. “Keyless wallets make it possible for more people to onboard into crypto and get started on Ronin. In 2024, we launched Ronin Waypoint to accomplish this mission. Today, we’re plugging into Privy,” Ronin said.

The date was pushed back more than once. After one cutoff passed, Ronin posted that it was granting users “an additional 2 weeks to complete your Ronin Waypoint migrations!”

“The deadline for migration was technically yesterday. However, we’ve seen a few cases of reactivated users that were surprised by the deadline and requested extensions,” Ronin said.

The next firm date was Oct. 16. Ronin’s post about it said: “Have you used a Waypoint account, keyless wallet, or social login feature on Ronin? You NEED to migrate your assets before the deadline or you’ll lose access to your account.”
