- In Brief: Publisher CROSS announced that Seal M on CROSS has hit its fifth season, bringing a new region, a world boss and a higher level ceiling.
- The MMORPG went live worldwide on March 19 on the back of 2.2 million pre-registrations, and it approached 300,000 daily active users not long after.
- Linking the update to player retention, CROSS said “Longevity is the real test for a web3 game platform.”
Four months on from its global debut, Seal M on CROSS has reached season five, as publisher CROSS layers a new region, a world boss and a lifted level cap onto the MMORPG.
CROSS unveiled the expansion on July 20 in an X post, positioning the game’s steady flow of content as proof of durability rather than pointing to its opening-day figures.
Five seasons deep, and @SealMonCROSS is still expanding โ new region, world boss, a higher ceiling.

What the season adds
With the update, a new region opens, a world boss arrives and the cap on character progression rises. CROSS stopped short of describing the region or the boss, confirming only that they’re on the way. Seal M’s endgame already revolves around field bosses, rift runs and dungeons โ the very content players grind to earn seasonal ranking points.
Seasons have been rolling out at a consistent pace. A Season 3 update teased in May brought second class advancement, allowing every first class to branch into a more specialized second class.
A fast start
Co-published by PLAYWITH KOREA and NEXUS, Seal M on CROSS launched globally on March 19. That debut came after 2.2 million pre-registrations, with sign-ups running strong across Southeast Asia, including Vietnam and Indonesia. Shortly after opening, the game pushed toward 300,000 daily active users.
The title is a revival of the early-2000s MMORPG Seal Online, rebuilt around a single global server that funnels players from every region onto one leaderboard. From a roster of seven classes โ Knights, Mages and Cooks among them โ players choose their path and level up across the fantasy continent of Shiltz.
How the season economy works
Every season is powered by Shiltz Crystal, an in-game resource gained through ranked play. Players accumulate ranking points by clearing rift, field boss and dungeon content and by completing daily and seasonal Shiltz Pass missions. When a season ends, a fixed pool of 10 million Shiltz Crystals is distributed among players according to their final ranking.
Those crystals convert into SHILTZx, the token used to buy Ooparts, Seal M’s top-tier items. The token layer remains optional: anyone after a straightforward MMORPG can clear all of the core content without engaging with it.
Inside the CROSS ecosystem
CROSS serves as the native token of the broader gaming platform, which also operates CROSS Wave, a streamer rewards layer, and CROSS Play, a mission system built to boost engagement across titles. A launch event distributed 780,000 CROSS tokens for objectives like completing a first job advancement and joining a guild. The developers intend to introduce payment methods including Binance Pay.
Seal M isn’t the first game PLAYWITH KOREA and NEXUS have released together on CROSS; the pair previously co-published R.O.H.A.N.2 Global on the platform.
For those coming back, an earlier event dubbed Journey’s and Invitation turned past Seal M mobile activity into ranking points, offering rewards that included pets and costume summon tickets.
