Shatterpoint Season 2 Begins December 10, TGE Planned for 2026

POINT COMM TOKEN In Brief

In Brief

  • Season 2 Launch: Shatterpoint to introduce new maps and better matchmaking starting December 10, with season concluding on January 5.
  • Token Generation Event: Slated for early 2026 after Season 3 ends, converting Sparks into tradable $POINT tokens.
  • Network Transition: Following a shift from Open Loot to the Base network, Shatterpoint ensures continued service and asset management.

Shatterpoint is gearing up to initiate its second season on December 10, promising a plethora of updates designed to enrich the gaming experience. The season will extend until January 5, introducing new maps and an enhanced matchmaking system that aims to provide a balanced competitive environment. The addition of Sparks as rewards for victories, including those against AI opponents, along with the introduction of the Regalia map, is set to spice up the player versus player (PvP) encounters with its strategically placed choke points and narrow pathways.

Evolving Tokenomics and Rewards

The third season of Shatterpoint is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026, shortly after which a token generation event (TGE) will take place. This pivotal event will transform all accumulated Sparks into $POINT tokens that are immediately usable and fully unlocked. Players will benefit from this new economy as they will start earning $POINT tokens directly through gameplay, moving away from the Spark collection system. Importantly, no additional tokens will be minted after the TGE, ensuring a fair and equitable distribution based on player engagement and success across the first three seasons.

The focus on rewarding players is evident, as demonstrated by the Kaito leaderboard’s reward pool, featuring 2 million $POINT tokens. Adjustments to the reward system now favor consistent playing, allowing gamers to garner points through regular engagement.

Platform Transition and Further Developments

Initially launched through Open Loot, Shatterpoint has now transitioned to the Base network amid changes in platform support by the former. This strategic shift has allowed the Shatterpoint development team to maintain operational integrity and control over in-game assets such as NFTs and Sparks. The move has been crucial in continuing game functionality and asset validity, thereby safeguarding player investments and in-game progress.

NFT Utilization and Gameplay

Shatterpoint extensively uses NFTs, which include Utility NFTs like charged Crystals that can be enhanced using a secondary in-game asset called Dust. There are also Equipment NFTs that players can dismantle for crafting materials, and Cosmetic NFTs, which, while providing minor bonuses, do not affect the competitive balance of the game. The game’s matchmaking system ensures that players are matched based on the power of their equipment rather than monetary or time investment, fostering a fair competitive scene that enhances overall gameplay satisfaction.
