amateur uses claude code codex and nasa data to flag a possible exoplanet and tess will test it in november Every 3.18 days, a star sitting 116 light-years from Earth loses a tiny fraction of its brightness. The person who says he caught that pattern is Pavel Rabtsevich, a 28-year-old product manager based in Spain. He has no astronomy training and owns no telescope. His tools were AI coding agents and NASA data that anyone can download. Within a few weeks, a space telescope will check whether he got it right.

webb telescope finds evidence of mars sized planets colliding around young stars Astronomers call it an extreme debris disk: a violent stage that only around 1% of young stars appear to show any trace of, even though theory predicts it should be more common. A new survey using NASA's James Webb Space Telescope doesn't resolve that gap, but it does begin to reveal what happens inside these uncommon, dust-filled systems. Some of them appear to be the wreckage left behind when Mars-sized worlds slammed into one another.

roman space telescope launches on a three month trek to l2 and a survey 1000x faster than hubble It took seven minutes from liftoff before controllers at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, began receiving telemetry from the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. Riding a SpaceX Falcon Heavy, the observatory departed Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 7:26 a.m. EDT Sunday, and it now sits three months and about one million miles away from the orbit where its real work begins.

roman space telescope buttoned up inside falcon heavy fairing ahead of aug 30 launch NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope vanished behind closed doors on Aug. 21. Inside the Payload Hazardous Servicing Facility at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, crews sealed a 43-foot shell around the observatory — and barring a serious setback, no one will lay eyes on it again.

six days of waiting nasas orbiter finally captures the moon crater left by a falcon 9 Six days of orbital patience were needed before NASA could get a clean view of the mark left when a rocket stage — one that departed Earth back in January 2025 — slammed into the Moon on Aug. 5.

swift observatory left to burn up as nasa calls off its orbital rescue There will be no rescue. NASA has cancelled the piece of the mission that counted: no spacecraft will lift the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory back to a safe altitude, and the telescope is now expected to fall back into Earth's atmosphere and burn up before the year is out.

falcon 9 debris leaves a 60 foot scar on the moon and nasa just photographed it Getting the photograph took six days of orbital waiting. NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter needed its own track and a freshly made scar on the moon to fall into alignment, and then had to roll onto its side so its cameras looked straight down at terrain 60 miles beneath it.
