The Beacon has announced that its public playtest will begin on August 27, 2025 through Epic Games. This marks the first time the upcoming action RPG will be widely accessible.
Players will be able to try an upgraded PC client featuring improved combat, new enemies, and event-only rewards. Returning testers can also expect fresh dungeons and challenges designed to showcase the game’s next stage of development.
Shift to Seasonal Structure
Alongside the playtest, the studio confirmed that The Beacon is moving away from closed testing phases and into a live seasonal model. Each season will deliver new content, dungeons, features, and progression systems while the base game remains open between cycles.
The team explained that this structure will allow them to collect ongoing player feedback and gradually refine the game in preparation for global launch.
Pre-Season Events and Season 1 Launch
Before the full seasonal rollout, pre-season events are planned for the end of 2025 to test new mechanics and systems. These events will include rewards that carry over into the first official season.
Season 1, scheduled for early 2026, will introduce a brand-new biome, additional enemy types, new weapons, and procedurally generated dungeons.
Social multiplayer will also debut, giving players the chance to interact and cooperate online for the first time.

Integration of Web3 Features
Season 1 will fold in elements that had been part of earlier development phases, including WoP upgrades, quests, and progression systems. Holders of in-game assets such as WoPs, Pets, and Founding Characters will gain unique opportunities within the season. The studio also confirmed that a token generation event is set for Q2 2026, providing further details on tokenomics, utility, and partnerships closer to launch.
Looking Ahead
The Beacon’s long-term plan includes regular seasonal updates, competitive and cooperative gameplay loops, and creator-driven tools that allow players to expand the game’s universe. While the studio aims to build a strong presence in traditional gaming, it is also committed to integrating blockchain features in a way that feels seamless and rewarding.
With the public playtest only weeks away, The Beacon is positioning itself as one of the most ambitious titles in the growing web3 RPG space, blending traditional action gameplay with evolving blockchain mechanics.
