Hyrule’s toughest puzzle at the moment isn’t actually in Hyrule. It’s a lump of metal sitting on your coffee table, and it carries a difficulty rating of 6 out of 6.
The Legend of Zelda has left Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom behind, but a newly released puzzle set is aimed squarely at fans of both. Whether it’s too soon to get nostalgic about BOTW and TOTK is up to you. Either way, it’ll scratch the Zelda itch while everyone waits for the next video game.
The item in question is Hanayama’s Addison Sign brain teaser, sold through a range of retailers including Amazon. And if that one sinks its hooks into you, the line also includes puzzles themed around the Hylian Shield, the Triforce, the Master Sword and more.

Working through every Addison Sign puzzle in TOTK was a memorable diversion, with Link putting his Ultrahand ability to work helping Addison prop up Hudson Construction signs across Hyrule.
Can you still hear the noises the poor guy made whenever he asked for a hand? I can.
That entire Tears of the Kingdom side quest chain is now something you can take on in real life, using your own two hands — which lands somewhere between a tribute and a mild punishment.
Don’t expect this one to go easy on you
Hanayama scores each of its metal puzzles from 1 to 6, with 6 reserved for the hardest challenges the company produces. You can probably guess what’s coming. The Legend of Zelda Addison Sign puzzle carries a rating of 6.

A 40th anniversary without a new Zelda
Here’s the odd bit. This is the 40th anniversary year for the series, and 2026 has come and gone without an original Zelda release.
The nearest thing is the Ocarina of Time remake landing later this year. That’s a legitimate reason to be excited, but it remains a remake of a game most of us have finished already — more than once, if you sank hours into the 3DS version.
A movie is also on the way in 2027. None of what’s coming appears to have BOTW or TOTK in its sights.
Which means the Wilds era’s 2026 showing amounts to a metal knot you might never work loose. For anyone who enjoyed planting President Hudson signs across Hyrule with Addison — or who knows someone who did — this IRL puzzle set makes for a very pointed gift.
With luck, a brand new Legend of Zelda game will surface in the months ahead. Until that happens, there’s Ocarina of Time later this year and a difficulty-6 sign that simply won’t stay upright.
