The Open Network (TON) has announced the Mini App Migration Grant Program to support blockchain-based Mini Apps transitioning to its ecosystem.
With Telegram implementing new policies starting February 21, TON will become the platform’s exclusive blockchain infrastructure for Mini Apps. TON offers financial incentives, technical support, and marketing exposure for developers migrating from other blockchains to encourage this shift.
Incentives for Developers and Benefits
The program provides eligible projects with ad credits of up to $50,000, depending on their user base. Apps with over 5 million users can receive the maximum support, while smaller projects with 10,000 to 1 million users may qualify for ad credits ranging from $100 to $10,000.
Moving a Mini App to the TON blockchain offers several advantages, including a scalable infrastructure, fast transactions, and secure smart contract integration. Developers will also benefit from increased exposure through Telegram Ads, allowing them to reach a wider audience. Additionally, TON provides technical and marketing support to ensure a successful transition.
Eligibility and Application Process
To qualify for the grant, Mini Apps must currently operate on a different blockchain and not yet be integrated with TON Connect. Applicants must comply with Telegram’s advertising policies, which prohibit certain content such as gambling. The migration process requires full integration with TON Connect, including wallet interactions and transaction authentication.
Applications must be submitted by February 20, with approved projects completing migration within one month. Ad credits will be distributed two weeks after verification. The selection process will consider factors such as user engagement, retention rates, and the project’s alignment with TON’s ecosystem. Preference will be given to Mini Apps that bring innovative features and enhance the platform’s value.
