Back in December, Ubisoft announced Quartz, Ubisoft’s NFT platform currently in its beta stage on Tezos blockchain.
The fans have disliked the concept of Quartz, with the majority opposing the announcement video and many just commenting “be better”.
Despite this hate, Ubisoft has announced that it will reward its Ghost Recon employees with a free NFT, which can use in-game with it being a dark-grey baseball cap with the Ghost Recon 20th Anniversary logo plastered in front.
The Ubisoft team stated:
“If you want to receive this exclusive [NFT], we will inject it into your crypto-wallet on the 9th of March.”
The hating is continuing on the Quartz project, and with the company’s actions, it seems kind of ironic they keep proceeding like that despite the hate Ubisoft is receiving.
The hate comes primarily from uneducated gamers in the NFT space who believe that NFTs are scams. Unfortunately, the current situation reveals that gamers have no idea how NFTs can help them claim ownership of their in-game assets.
Truth be told, with all the celebrities and cash-grabbers minting useless NFTs, the belief that NFTs are scams has a base. Once again, egamers.io continues to inform average gamers and spread the benefits of blockchain gaming to the masses.
While we also didn’t like Ubisoft’s NFTs on Ghost Recon, we believe it’s a good start, and many more will come in the future.
As we tweeted days ago, Normal gamers are going to use NFTs without knowing it very soon. The adoption of Non-Fungible Tokens is inevitable.
People mocked up when the email arrived, telling us that email would never replace the post office. We are experiencing the same scenario.
Ubisoft is known for its big titles with Far Cry, Assasins Creed, and Tom Clancy’s.
