The company has announced that it will no longer pursue its original plan and will instead focus on publishing and launching high-quality Web3 games.
In a statement, Uprising Labs expressed its belief that the Web3 space does not need more blockchains at the moment but rather more great games. This shift in direction aligns with the company’s vision of creating deeper and more qualitative games specifically designed for PC and console platforms.
The company gained early momentum by minting out a 1,111-strong genesis NFT collection, which were marketed as offering long-term utility and various rewards. The future utility of these NFTs remains unclear at this time.
Additionally, Uprising Labs recently announced the addition of web3 features to their tactical naval warfare title, Maelstrom, which has been available on Steam since 2019. This move signifies the company’s commitment to integrating web3 technology into their existing game portfolio.
