World of ClaudeCraft Goes All-In on PvP: v0.35.0 Launches Thornhollow Fields, Its First Ranked 5v5 Battleground

world of claudecraft goes all in on pvp v0 35 0 launches thornhollow fields its first ranked 5v5 battleground In Brief:

In Brief:

  • v0.35.0 has arrived in World of ClaudeCraft as a PvP-focused update, led by Thornhollow Fields — a ranked 5v5 capture-the-flag battleground that sets Crimson against Azure.
  • A rebuilt item level 31 WARFARE gear tier spanning five sets is now purchasable with Honor.
  • Until this release the game’s PvP system ran entirely on 1v1 and 2v2 arena ladders, making this its first large-team ranked format.

World of ClaudeCraft has shipped v0.35.0 and framed the whole build around PvP. The headline addition is Thornhollow Fields, a ranked 5v5 capture-the-flag battleground that pits Crimson against Azure, with two keeps and a single flag per side.

According to the project, the first squad to five captures takes the match. Documentation in its own repository, however, lists the win condition as first to three captures under a 12-minute cap — so what actually shipped may be tuned differently from what was announced.

How it plays

The PvP window opens with the G key. Thornhollow Fields occupies the primary tab there, sitting next to the 1v1 and 2v2 arena brackets, and queuing works either solo or as a party of up to five. Groups are kept intact, and solo queuers round out whatever roster space is left.

Its arena is open-air and walled, with a keep anchoring each end. A pair of full-width curtain walls splits the map into three chambers — one field chamber per team, plus the walled Ruin Courtyard between them — linked by contested crossings.

Grabbing the flag takes intent rather than a simple touch. Stealing the opposing banner requires a deliberate press of the battleground action key, after which you have to carry it back to your own stand.

Rules against stalling

Anti-turtle pressure comes from carrier fatigue. Sit on the enemy flag for too long and escalating damage starts ticking on you until the flag is captured, dropped or returned.

Stealth offers no way around it. The act of taking the flag breaks stealth outright, and any carrier who goes invisible drops it immediately.

Corpse runs aren’t part of it either. Dead players from a team return as a group on a staggered wave clock back at their keep, with brief spawn protection that lasts until they take an action.

What Honor buys

Honor comes from ranked wins and Fiesta takedowns, and the town quartermaster exchanges it for Warfare gear. For v0.35.0 that tier has been rebuilt at item level 31 and covers five sets.

Warfare is still a PvP-only stat. The gear wins duels but never out-scales same-tier dungeon loot in PvE, so grinding battlegrounds stays outside the raid progression path.

Community concept designs for the debut PvP season’s item sets were also circulated by the project, which said it is waiting to see which of them get added.

Where it fits

Before this, ranked PvP spanned two arena maps. The Drowned Court joined as a second ranked arena while the Ashen Coliseum pit was rebuilt with fresh cover and wider bounds, and ranked 1v1 and 2v2 rotate between the pair. A persistent Elo-style rating backs both ladders, seeding every player at 1500, alongside an all-time leaderboard surfaced through the arena API.

Two further modes round things out. 2v2 Fiesta is built on augment pickups and a shrinking ring, running to 15 takedowns, with augments such as Bloodhunter, Overdrive, Apex Predator, Archmage and Avatar. Protect Yumi is the unrated option at 3v3 and 5v5, staged in a maze where both teams defend a cat familiar while trying to take down the opposing one — a format that rewards escorts and picks over raw kill counts.

Background

The previous release, v0.34.0, arrived Aug. 5 with an economy and world focus. It introduced the guild bank, tradable mount reins, a reworked Drakelands featuring a new Dragonkin brood, profession tool-effect charms and a fishing-to-cooking loop, while rebuilding Fenbridge and localizing the game into 21 locales — 971 commits’ worth of work since v0.33.1.

The title is free and open source, and can be played through a browser, an app or a client. One persistent realm powers the live world at worldofclaudecraft.com on Postgres-backed accounts, while that same seed and world feed an offline browser build, a local single-player sim and a headless reinforcement learning environment sitting behind a Gym interface. Its economy operates on two tracks, with optional web3 components that include the WOC community token.

Levy Street, the developer, assembled the playable foundation in two days using Anthropic’s Claude Fable 5 and published it to the web on June 13, 2026. Progression continues to span levels 1 through 20 across handcrafted zones beginning in Eastbrook Vale, with nine classic classes and elite dungeons.

A Steam page under app ID 4897790 predates the PvP work. It is listed as free-to-play and, pending platform approval, still shows nothing more than a wishlist button.
