Yuga Labs, the mastermind behind the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club and the upcoming Otherside Metaverse project, is stepping up its game by bringing on board gaming guru Mike Seavers as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Mike, who’s got a pretty impressive resume with stints at Riot Games and Epic Games, is all set to start his new gig on May 22.
But wait, there’s more! This isn’t Yuga Labs’ first big-name hire. Just four months back, they snagged former Activision President and COO Daniel Alegre to be their new CEO. Yuga Labs sure seems to be going all-in on making a name for itself in the gaming space.
Let’s not forget about Yuga’s upcoming Otherside Metaverse, which is a huge part of their gaming plans. It’s a social MMORPG where players can jump into a 3D world, go on quests, and basically have a ton of fun.
Even as they dive into gaming, Yuga Labs is still rocking the NFT world. A recent DappRadar report showed that between October 2022 and March 2023, Yuga’s NFT collections (including Bored Apes, Mutant Apes, CryptoPunks, Meebits, and Otherdeeds) made up a whopping 35% of all NFT sales volume. That’s a whole lot of digital art trading hands!
