Upland Locks In Dates for Troves Rollout and Uppie Property Assignment

Upland Introduces Exciting Airdrop Campaign to Celebrate Upcoming Token Launch

In Brief:

  • Upland has locked in launch dates for both Uppie property assignment and its Troves features, adding new depth to gameplay dynamics.
  • Property assignment for Uppies arrives during Sizzle Season, with Troves, Banking, and Progression all shipping ahead of Harvest Season on October 1.
  • Two bundle offerings will headline the biggest Uppie drop the game has run, going live July 29.

Launch dates confirmed

Definitive timing is now on the table for Upland’s property assignment feature and its Troves system — two pieces the studio sees as central to tying the game’s mechanics together. The Uppie property assignment window opens August 1 and stays open through September 15, while Troves and its companion Trove Banking and Progression features are slated to arrive before the October 1 Harvest Season begins.

Upland is marking the occasion with the biggest Uppie drop it has ever run. Registration opens July 28, and sales follow on July 29.

Troves system and its significance

Troves breaks down into three pillars: Collect, Bank, and Progress. Discovery happens through interactive gameplay, with players also gathering Troves from in-game elements and crafting them using recipes. Banking gives players a vault in which to secure what they’ve collected, and Progress lets them advance by stockpiling Troves and clearing game objectives.

Taken together, these systems are meant to add depth by tying property ownership to what players actually do — building, developing neighborhoods, and more. Upland frames Troves as the linchpin drawing the game’s disparate elements into a richer whole.

Uppie assignments enhance gameplay

Alongside Troves, property assignment lets players station Level 3 and higher Uppies on their properties. An assigned Uppie will tend to plants, adding a fresh layer of interactivity. Feeding plants remains the player’s job, but ongoing care becomes far less of a chore with an Uppie on site.

Down the road, Upland intends to add 3D movement for Uppies and automate Trove collection — eventually, Level 5 Uppies will pull Troves from plants on their own, which makes the question of where a player stations each Uppie a meaningful one.

Largest Uppie drop to date

Two limited bundles are on offer during the drop to get players ready for what’s coming. Bundle one bundles 20,000 UPX with an Uppie Pack at $20, capped at 3,000 units. Bundle two runs $50 for 50,000 UPX plus a guaranteed Level 3 or higher Uppie, with just 400 available. Both are pitched as preparation for property assignment.

Inside Upland

Frequently described as Monopoly on the blockchain, Upland lets users purchase, sell, and trade virtual properties tied to real-world locations. Since its December 2019 launch, the game has become a major name in virtual property, with a user base topping three million.

UPX serves as the in-game currency, built on the EOS blockchain. A range of in-game activities earn players UPX, and properties turn into registered NFTs once a player reaches Uplander status.

Over time, Upland’s ecosystem has expanded to cover things like structures and service forms, widening what players can do without displacing property ownership from the center of the experience. Troves and the Uppie updates push those mechanics closer together still, cementing property trading as the game’s foundation.

Interconnected gameplay design

According to Upland, every intersecting piece — Troves, Banking, Uppies, and properties — is built to work in concert with the others. How players choose to own and develop property will shape what they get out of the game, with the goal being a seamless experience throughout.

With Sizzle Season underway and the Troves launch on the horizon, Upland appears set to draw its player base into a set of interlocking features that push its real estate simulation further.
