Fantasy Flight Games has now mapped out the next two years of Star Wars: Unlimited, and the biggest takeaway is simple: the Skywalkers are returning.
Legacy of Skywalker sits on the roadmap through 2027. Card specifics remain scarce for the moment, though it arrives as a standard booster set designed to span every Skywalker across the eras.
The reveal came during the game’s major championship, where the studio aired its Galactic Report outlining the plan. W Eric Martin was first to report it.
Homeworlds arrives first, and it’s the better entry point
Ahead of any Skywalker material, Star Wars: Unlimited – Homeworlds lands in October 2026. Spotlight decks for that release are fronted by Chewbacca and Grand Moff Tarkin.
Anyone who has been eyeing the game without committing should treat October as the moment to jump in. Homeworlds looks like the capstone of this chapter in the game’s life, and Fantasy Flight framed it that way itself.
“As we head into the second half of Star Wars™: Unlimited’s third year, there is one facet of the Star Wars galaxy that has remained relatively unexplored within the game. We’ve seen epic space battles, legendary Force users, cutthroat galactic politics, and more blaster-toting, credit-chasing outlaws than you can count. What we haven’t seen that much are the vast multitude of alien worlds that make up a large part of the galaxy—as well as the myriad creatures that call them home.”

Two fresh tokens and a keyword aimed at your base
On the mechanical side, the additions are concrete: Beast and Weakness tokens, along with a new Fortify keyword. Base upgrades are the element to keep an eye on, since that region of the board is one most card games simply ignore.
Unlimited comes from Fantasy Flight Games, and it channels the franchise’s most recognizable elements into a trading card game that continues to receive support. That steady backing goes a long way toward explaining its reputation as one of the stronger Star Wars games around, within a franchise sprawled across so many mediums that keeping tabs on all of them is genuinely difficult.
Where things stand on the film side
Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter, with Ryan Gosling in the lead, carries a May 28, 2027 release date. Talk of a new trilogy refuses to die down. Rey’s New Jedi Order movie, meanwhile, has been confirmed as in development.
It all traces back to George Lucas in 1977. Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, which originally carried the title Star Wars alone, spawned sequels, prequels, TV shows, video games and comics. Disney later acquired the rights and expanded the universe onto Disney+, beginning with The Mandalorian.
And the galaxy’s most infamous family is finally getting a booster set bearing its name.
