Axie Vibeathon opens for game developers
Now officially underway, the Axie Vibeathon is calling on developers to build playable Axie games. A 20,000 bAXS prize pool will be split between winners, finalists, and entries that stand out from the pack.
September 7 is the registration deadline. Once developers sign in using a Sky Mavis account, they can build their titles, host them on their own, and submit the links. Round one spans September 8 through 21, after which as many as eight finalists move into a second round running October 4 to 31. The winners get revealed on November 5.
Building with AI tools
Newcomers and seasoned developers alike are the intended audience for the Vibeathon. AI coding tools do much of the heavy lifting, letting entrants concentrate on game ideas rather than deep programming know-how. Everyone competes solo and submits a single game, with the objective being an engaging playable experience.
Every entry faces strict eligibility and safety screening. Submissions that clear those checks are scored by independent judges, whose marks decide who advances to the finals.
Resources available
Builders get a Builder Resource Kit for the event, packed with Axie assets, engine guides, and Discord support. A Get Started guide covers the journey from first idea to final submission and is written for developers of every skill level.
On top of that, each Round 2 finalist receives 250 USDC toward AI tooling, meant to push development further and encourage integration into the Axie ecosystem.
As the first edition, this Vibeathon is meant to influence how games get made in the Axie community going forward and lay the groundwork for future editions. “What you build here shapes what comes next,” the announcement stated, pointing to the possibility that winning concepts could grow into official Axie games.
