FIFA Rivals sends week two Stars to packs while the chase Star stays gameplay-only

fifa rivals sends week two stars to packs while the chase star stays gameplay only In Brief:

In Brief:

  • FIFA Rivals (official site) has moved the second week of its Stars of the Week lineup into packs — five footballers picked from the real fixtures played the previous weekend.
  • The chase Star for the week cannot be bought. It is earned via the weekend flash, which additionally hands over a single fragment toward a Star of the Month whose name stays under wraps until the Monday of week four.
  • This weekly cadence continues throughout the 26/27 season, taking over from the World Cup 2026 All-Stars program that wrapped Aug. 16.

Five fresh Stars have gone into FIFA Rivals packs, but the week’s marquee name was deliberately withheld — the chase now sits behind a weekend gameplay event instead of pack odds.

“Real matches. Real picks,” the game’s account posted. “Week 2’s five Stars drop in packs today. Chase arrives in the weekend flash.”

No names were attached to the five in the announcement. Stars of the Week puts footballers into packs each Tuesday at 3 p.m. UTC, and the picks are tied to how those players performed across the prior weekend’s real matches. Chapter 1 got underway Aug. 25.

The chase sits outside packs

Opening packs will not land you the chase Star. The only route to that player is the weekend flash — the same structural split Mythical leaned on throughout the summer program, with pack content on one track and gameplay-gated content on the other.

A player nobody has seen yet

A slower collection runs beneath the weekly drops. Each flash hands out a single Star of the Month fragment, and they arrive in a fixed sequence: Vision first, followed by Heart, Form, Mind and Soul. Because the identity stays secret until the Monday of week four, players are stacking pieces without knowing who they are assembling.

Five-fragment builds are already familiar territory here. It mirrors the assembly system FIFA Rivals applies to its Mythical content, where gathering all five merges them into the associated player — or a lone fragment can instead be burned to level that player up.

Upgrade values differ from fragment to fragment. Vision gives 25 XP, Heart 50, Form 150, Mind 500 and Soul 600, meaning the reveal sequence climbs from cheapest to most valuable.

What week one looked like

Chapter 1’s Legendaries were Turkey’s Arda Güler, France’s Florian Thauvin and Brazil’s Bremer. Nobel Mendy and Lamine Camara were also in the mix, Jack Hinshelwood served as the chase Star, and Raphinha and Martin Ødegaard appeared as Assembly Mythicals.

Before this

The weekly format stepped in for the FIFA World Cup 2026 All-Stars program, a three-week run that brought tournament standouts back at their highest power ratings before finishing Aug. 16.

Assembly Mythicals at 121 power anchored that event: Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham, Achraf Hakimi and Unai Simón. Legendary Chase Flash Events arrived each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, reachable through gameplay alone and never sold in packs, with each one carrying a fragment toward that week’s Mythical. Anyone who missed the window lost the player.

Assembling all three of a week’s fragments unlocked a Sunday Mythical Chase Flash Event that paid out the headline player at 122 power. Since the program ended, its fragments have been changing hands on the secondary market.

The game

Mythical Games and FIFA unveiled the title in November 2024 and rolled it out globally on June 12, 2025. The free-to-play game casts the user as a general manager assembling a custom roster for head-to-head PvP, with its in-game and web marketplaces running on Mythos.

Downloads passed 1 million inside six weeks of launch, quicker than any previous Mythical release reached that mark. That opening million of players racked up over 5 million matches, which yielded 16 million goals, 14 million interceptions, 7 million Supers and 4 million saves.

Mythical additionally has a multi-year OneFootball partnership, announced in June 2025, piping live stats and player stories into gameplay, plus an adidas licensing arrangement that covers tradable digital boots, a match ball and jerseys.

Mythical Games CEO John Linden said at launch that the game was “blending high-energy arcade gameplay with team-building strategy and actual ownership in gaming.”
