LEGO is pulling eight Nintendo-themed sets from its store. From December 31, 2026, the official LEGO store will stop selling them, so anyone who has been holding off on Blathers’s Museum Collection doesn’t have long left.
Fans of both brands are in for a tough year. LEGO is retiring a large batch of these collaboration sets all at once, and four of the eight come from Animal Crossing.
Animal Crossing loses the most
Animal Crossing makes up half of the retiring sets: Tom Nook and Flying Present, Stargazing with Celeste, Blathers’s Museum Collection and Goldie’s Cosy House. If you have shelf space for one cozy village scene, buy it now.
The remaining four come from the Mario Bros. line: Adventures with Interactive LEGO Luigi, Adventures with Interactive LEGO Peach, Interactive LEGO Mario & Standard Kart and Shy Guy & P-Wing.
LEGO does this all the time. The company regularly swaps out its lineup to keep it fresh, so every set it releases will eventually be retired. That doesn’t make it hurt less when one you wanted is on the list.
Waiting will likely cost more
These sets won’t vanish completely after they leave the store, because you’ll still find them secondhand. Once LEGO stops selling them, though, resale prices tend to rise, and some of the older and more popular sets will probably cost a lot more than retail.
If one of these sets has been sitting in your cart, buy it soon while it’s still at retail price. You’ll be glad you did when you see what resellers are charging later.

Six years of Nintendo in brick form
A partnership like this was always likely. Nintendo and LEGO both market themselves as making things for all ages, so it was only a matter of time before they teamed up.
The collaboration began in 2020 with Super Mario Bros. sets. In the six years since, it has grown to cover Donkey Kong, Animal Crossing, The Legend of Zelda and Pokémon. LEGO also made versions of Nintendo hardware, including the Game Boy and NES.
New Mario sets will fill the gaps
There is some good news for fans upset about the retirements. Eight new Nintendo sets will arrive on the LEGO website and at retailers at the start of 2027, and all of them are Mario Bros. sets.
Four of them are Mario’s Pipe Jump, Mario’s Beach Adventures, Fire Luigi vs. Koopa Troopa Battle and Yoshi at Mario’s House. Three are racing sets: Bowser’s Rumbling Race, Luigi & Bowser Jr.’s Race and Racing with Mario. The last is Fire Mario & Bowser’s Castle.

So far, Mario Bros. is the only franchise with sets scheduled. LEGO usually announces more sets near the end of the year, and some of them could be Nintendo-themed.
Animal Crossing fans shouldn’t count on that, though. Celeste, Blathers and Goldie will stay on the LEGO store until December 31, and after that, buyers will have to pay whatever the secondhand market charges.
