thought farms yakkamon grabs third place in ronin proof of distribution season 5 In Brief:

In Brief:

  • Yakkamon, a creature collector made by Sunflower Land studio Thought Farm, placed third in Season 5 of Ronin’s Proof of Distribution program.
  • According to Ronin, Yakkamon NFTs have produced 1.4M RON in trading volume since launch, even though the game itself isn’t out yet.
  • Early access arrives in waves in Q4 2026, and it’s limited to the top 100,000 trainers on the Season 0 pre-registration leaderboard.

Ronin announced on X that Yakkamon took third place in Proof of Distribution Season 5. The game hasn’t left pre-registration yet.

The network put Yakkamon NFT trading volume at 1.4M RON since launch and called the title “an upcoming creature collecting game where monsters farm resources, explore the world, and battle other trainers.”

Ronin didn’t disclose the size of the RON payout tied to Yakkamon’s third-place finish.

The egg mint drove the volume

The bulk of that trading happened early on. A recent ecosystem recap on Ronin’s blog said the free NFT Egg mint for Yakkamon hit “1.30 million RON in trading volume during its first couple of weeks.”

That recap also reported “more than 150,000 trainers already pre-registered” before early access. It said Thought Farm relied on Ronin’s Honor Score to choose 1,000 Ronin users for the game’s whitelist.

On Yakkamon’s official site, the free mint on Ronin is listed as offering “10,000 monster NFTs.” Ronin Market shows the Yakkamon collection at 10,000 items, labeled as “Bad Egg” NFTs.

Trainers who pre-register receive a Monster Egg as well. The site says that egg is an in-game item, not an NFT. Another airdrop reserves “5,000 Legendary and Rare Eggs” for top performers.

FLOWER, no new token

Yakkamon isn’t getting a token of its own. “There is no new token. Yakkamon uses $FLOWER, the same token used across Thought Farm's games,” according to the site.

Pre-launch FLOWER deposits can be made with tokens on Ronin or Base.

Early access

According to the site, “Early access opens in Q4 2026 and rolls out in waves.” Wave placement depends on Season 0 points, which players earn during the pre-registration phase as they move up a leaderboard. Only “the top 100,000 trainers are eligible for early access.”

Idle automation is the center of the design. Players track down and catch monsters, then put them on farming and gathering jobs that keep going while the player is offline. Gathered resources get refined into gear, and trained creatures battle other players in an arena.

Thought Farm hasn’t shared how combat works. The studio also hasn’t confirmed whether arena matches will run live or asynchronously.

How PoD works

Under Proof of Distribution, Ronin pays RON to projects according to activity on the smart contracts they’ve registered with the network. “Your Builder Score is calculated each epoch from on-chain metrics across the contracts you have registered,” Ronin’s documentation explains. “If you do not register a contract, its activity is invisible to PoD.”

At the program’s launch, Ronin said PoD “re-allocates staking rewards from passive validators → active builders.”

Scoring changed midway through Season 5 when Ronin added RON Conviction, which it called “a new multiplier to Builder Score that takes community conviction into account.” A project scores higher when its community shows stronger RON conviction, while weaker conviction reduces the multiplier.

Ronin had already named Craft World as the second-place finisher for Season 5. VOYA Games’ title has now been runner-up twice, having also come second in the program’s first season.

Ronin’s blog said “more than 2 million RON will have been distributed to builders through PoD” by the time Season 5 wraps up.

The studio

Thought Farm calls itself “the team behind Sunflower Land SFL $0.05688 ▼ -6.6% (official site): over 1 million players, more than 100 open source contributors, and five years of building live and in the open.”

Yakkamon’s official site lists the game as playable in a web browser and on Ronin. “Yakkamon is on Ronin, the same network the Monster NFT free mint runs on,” the site said.
