Ronin wrote on X: “After that, Ronin Waypoint will be fully sunset, and the migration will be complete!”
Who qualifies for the grace period
Migration isn’t open to everyone again. The extra window is limited to users who had already raised an issue on X, Discord or through a ticket.
“The Grace Period gives our users time to resolve any outstanding issues raised via X, Discord or Ticket,” according to Ronin.
Oct. 16 was the main deadline. Ronin had already moved the date twice at users’ request: first from Sept. 12, then from Oct. 16.
Anyone who needs support can submit a request at support.roninchain.com. Ronin wants the wallet address plus a screenshot, or a transaction hash or the failure message. The migration portal lives at wallet.roninchain.com/app/migrating.
What happens to assets left behind
Nothing moves on its own. Assets remain in the Waypoint wallet until their owner transfers them.
Axie Infinity’s migration guide warns: “Assets left in a Waypoint wallet may become inaccessible.”
Players who haven’t logged in for months face the biggest risk. The change hits anyone who used Waypoint, a keyless or MPC wallet, or social login on Ronin. Seed phrase wallets are not affected.
The Waypoint dashboard at waypoint.roninchain.com shows a player’s status. Wallets that need action carry a Social Login Wallet or Keyless label.
Two ways out
There are two choices. One is Ronin Stash, which keeps email and social login. The other is a standard Ronin Wallet protected by a seed phrase.
To go the Stash route, use the official migration page. Log in with the Waypoint account, set Ronin Stash as the destination, pick the assets to transfer and finish the process.
For a seed phrase wallet, use the Ronin transfer page. Log in with Waypoint, choose an asset, type in the destination address, send it and check that the assets arrived.
bAXS and badges need their own step
Axie Infinity players have an extra job. bAXS and badges stay behind when the rest of the wallet moves, so they have to be migrated through app.axie.
The steps: log in with the Waypoint account, connect a seed phrase wallet to the Axie account, check badges and bAXS, approve bAXS if there’s a balance, then sign the transaction.
“You can only complete this migration once,” Axie Infinity said.
Background
The Waypoint shutdown was announced by Axie Infinity on Oct. 2. Ronin Stash, the keyless wallet replacing it, was revealed in June.
This sunset has nothing to do with Ronin’s switch to an Ethereum Layer 2. That move wrapped up in May 2026 after roughly 10 hours of mainnet downtime. It brought RON inflation down from over 20% to under 1% and raised the marketplace fee going to the Treasury from 0.5% to 1.25%.
The grace period runs out at 3 p.m. UTC on Oct. 31. Ronin says the migration will be complete at that point.
