From Tuesday 27 October at 2pm CET, anyone can play Arena, the football club-management mode that uses the same $MFL (official site) currency as Pro Manager. You won’t need a code, a waiting list spot or a Discord invite. Set up your club, and within a few minutes you’re on the touchline for your first match.
The open launch comes after three weeks of beta testing. The ladder was empty when the beta began. Players worked their way up it, found what broke and sent in feedback, and the developers say that work has improved the version going live tomorrow.
The problem the beta exposed
New managers stalling too early was the complaint players raised most. You’d win a few opening matches, open your first pack, and then progress flattened out. The lower divisions, where every club begins, paid small rewards.
According to the developers, Arena is meant to work the other way. Your club should get better on every day you play, and you should always have something worth playing for. They responded with three changes: a new currency, more progression and fairer matchmaking.
Gems, an Arena-only currency
The shared economy was behind the low rewards. Any $MFL paid out in Arena lands in the same economy Pro Manager club owners depend on, which meant lower-division payouts had to stay modest.
Because Gems exist only in Arena, the team can hand out more of them early on. Take a new manager in Amateur III who plays their 10 matches, logs in daily and picks up one win per day: they’ll earn more than 350 Gems in week one. That buys seven 30+ packs. In the beta, the same week earned you one.
You spend Gems in the Store on Arena packs and OVR boosts. Between the login streak, first wins and quests, you can earn up to 780 Gems per week. That cap doesn’t include weekly payouts, first-time bonuses or the Season Pass.
$MFL is still the top prize
$MFL remains the currency Arena and Pro Manager share, and it’s still the reward the top Arena managers chase. You have to play at least 10 matches in a week to qualify for the weekly payout. In the Pro division and above, 5 of those matches must be wins. Each week ends on Monday at 11pm CET.
Fairer matchmaking and shorter waits
During the beta, squads that got strong fast through packs could stay low on the ladder for a while, where they kept running into far weaker clubs. One side enjoyed it. The other side had a miserable time.
Matchmaking now checks the strength of your starting XI alongside your rank for your first 30 matches each season. Strong squads face strong opponents from the start, and new clubs meet teams nearer their own level. An Amateur opponent’s XI can be no more than 5 OVR above yours. The Prospect limit is now 10.
The gap between matches also shrinks from five minutes to one, so a loss puts you right back into the next game.
Season 1 starts from zero
Everyone starts Season 1 fresh. Only one rule carries over: each pro player can play in one mode per season, and their first match decides which.
When 2pm arrives tomorrow, the ladder resets to empty. No one sits in Legend, all clubs begin in Amateur III, and twenty places wait at the top.
The developers thanked the beta managers for playing, reporting bugs and giving feedback, and thanked the content creators who gave out access codes during the test.
