Captain & Company sails onto Enjin with soulbound passes and a 100,000 ENJ prize pool

A collectible run of Enjin Pirate Blob NFTs has been loaded with 100,000 ENJ by Enjin, tied to Captain & Company, the KAP Games pirate MMORPG that hooked into the chain in late July.

The pool goes to fifty players. Five of those slots are drawn at random from all participants, with no purchase required, while the remaining 45 go to the highest placements on the in-game Piracy leaderboard.

Recipients are free to keep their Blobs, put them on the market or burn them to claim the ENJ held inside.

What the pass does

Minting an Enjin Pass is open to any player from their profile page at capnco.gg/profile. The badge is collectible, and its metadata shifts as players mint Enjin mXP, moving up through Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers that are ranked against every other active player in the game.

Because the pass is soulbound, it cannot be transferred, sold or faked, and it lives in the player’s own wallet instead of on a KAP Games server.

Everything runs through the economy the game already has. A player holding an in-game Pirate Pass earns doubloons out at sea, then returns to the profile page to mint mXP. How often they mint is unlimited.

That Pirate Pass is itself a paid item, listed on the Kap.gg platform’s currencies page for $5 worth of nuggies. For 30 days it raises the free-to-play earnings cap, though access to port missions is not part of the deal.

Classic mode returns

Alongside the Enjin rewards, KAP Games rolled its own game back.

“The classic Captain & Company game mode is returning on July 29, 2026, and we’re launching it with additional new Enjin rewards!” the studio said in a blog post.

C&C Classic strips the experience back to ship battles, dropping the systems piled on since. Runes and talents are switched off for the moment, and the studio said it intends to bring them back in stages, guided by player polls and feedback.

Crews on every ship now include AI-powered members who take stations next to human players, responding to the action and handling guns or the helm. Commanding a warship was always intended to be a group job, the studio said, and captains going it alone felt that gap in a less than fun way.

One fix leads into another. Pirate Pass holders who enable Autopirate in their settings are added to the AI crewmate pool while logged off, so rewards keep accruing for battles they crew without being there.

“Permanently online piracy!” the studio said.

How the game splits its players

The player base in Captain & Company is split down the middle. On one side are Captains, who own ship NFTs and shoulder the risk each time they head into combat. On the other are Company players, who bring no ships of their own and instead claim a share of the booty from winning battles they crew, working roles such as gunner, boatswain and carpenter.

Combat plays out in real time with room for up to 128 players. The title is free to play and runs on any device via capnco.gg.

For Enjin, the integration adds a naval combat game at the front of a crowded run for the chain. Wind Season, chapter three of Enjin’s year-long Essence of the Elements Multiverse Quest, kicked off July 28 at 15:00 UTC and continues until a rewards draw on Oct. 2. Each season of that campaign has its own 50,000 ENJ allocation, taken from the 200,000 ENJ set aside across 2026’s four seasons.

The studio pointed its message at the existing crowd. “If you’re an OG Captain & Company pirate, this is the game mode you’ve been asking for,” it said.
