Decentraland has officially announced its 2025 Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) from April 9-12.
This year’s theme, “Infinite Identities,” will highlight the revolutionary blend of digital wearables and avatar customization, emphasizing the new horizons of virtual self-expression and personal freedom.
Spotlight on Emerging Talent and Innovation
A significant highlight of MVFW 2025 is the introduction of the “MVFW Prize” competition, titled “The Banners We Wear.” This initiative encourages students and emerging designers to create digital wearables that convey themes of identity, resilience, and hope.
With a prize pool of $15,000 in MANA, the competition aims to mint the winning designs as official Decentraland Wearables, which will be featured prominently during the event. The main prize allocates $10,000 in MANA to the winner, setting the stage for a vibrant showcase of creativity and digital craftsmanship.
Bridging Cultures through Digital Fashion
The event also presents “Wearables Around the World,” a catwalk that exhibits digital fashion pieces inspired by global cultural heritage. This segment demonstrates how virtual fashion transcends geographical and physical boundaries, allowing designers from various backgrounds to display their work to a worldwide audience.
In addition to the runway shows and competitions, Decentraland invites visionary 3D creators to submit interactive experiences that explore the event’s theme. Successful proposals will receive $2,000 in MANA and an exclusive virtual space in the MVFW Main Plaza, a 2×2 plot of LAND.
