Epic Games would like you to actually step aboard the Millennium Falcon before it parts with its latest Star Wars cosmetic. This isn’t a battle pass tier. It isn’t a shop purchase either. It’s a genuine theme park ride.
Unveiled over the weekend, the Forsworn Trooper skin sits behind Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, an attraction running at two of Disney’s parks right now. Nothing else will do. That’s the price of admission.
What you have to do at the park
You’ll find Smugglers Run within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, located at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida and at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Fire up the Disneyland or MyDisney app before boarding and take on a mission handed out by Hondo Ohnaka.
Your presence on the ride is picked up by the app, which then marks your account as eligible.
Connect your MyDisney account to your Epic Games account, and the Forsworn Trooper will be waiting the next time you fire up Fortnite. Should in-game rewards not work on your end for any reason, a code arrives by email instead.
The catch nobody mentions on the ride
Here’s the wrinkle: the skin is region-locked. TVS_Yarin on X reports that claims are restricted to accounts based in Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Every other region is shut out. Linking the accounts changes nothing. Redeeming the code changes nothing. You could book a flight to Anaheim, ride the Falcon, follow every step to the letter and end up empty-handed.
For a reward designed around turning up in person, that hurts.
The part you can do from your couch
A franchise loading screen is up for grabs free of charge for everyone, no airfare involved. Load up the Smugglers Gambit creative island inside Fortnite and lend Ohnaka a hand.
Getting there means entering island code 7474-2686-2725 in the Discover tab.
Those who have been to the park should make their way to Hondo’s docking bay and speak with him to trigger his quest.
Twitch drops, and a clock nobody’s showing you
Between Aug. 16 and Aug. 21, Smugglers Gambit rewards are open to everyone through Fortnite livestreams on Twitch. Tune into a Fortnite content creator listed under the Drops Enabled category. Fifteen minutes of viewing unlocks the At Your Service! spray, while thirty minutes lands the Hunk of Junk emoticon.
When these offers run out is anyone’s guess. If you qualify, don’t wait around to claim.
