Animoca Brands secured three-year global licensing rights from Dorna Sports in order to bring MotoGP on the blockchain. The launch is expected along with the start of the 2020 MotoGP racing season in March.
The MotoGP Crypto Game will feature digital collectible assets as part of the gameplay and a “manager” style gameplay. Players will be able to collect, trade and use in-game assets through custom-developed smart contracts on the blockchain.
It is worth to mention that MotoGP is the oldest motorsports championship currently watched by over 400 million people worldwide. Animoca Brands has already secured over $676,000 to fund the game and other business opportunities.
Animoca Brands is one of the most well-funded blockchain games studios and their upcoming titles include F1 Delta Time, the official Formula 1 Crypto Collectible game as well as a game for the popular TV series Addams Family. Moreover, Animoca Brands collaborates with Lucid Sight games to bring the official crypto game of MLB, called MLB Champions.
