Mythical Games, the gaming studio behind Blankos Block Party, has announced the successful initial closure of its Series C1 funding round, raising $37 million. Digital asset manager, Scytale Digital, headed this round, with significant contributions coming from Animoca Brands, A16z, ARK Invest, MoonPay, PROOF, Stanford Athletics, and other renowned investors.
Aiming for Profitability in a Year
This investment will be used to secure profitability within a year by expanding the scale of its Web3 games and infrastructure. The gaming studio also plans to target a broader mainstream audience using new economy and game models. Another $20-$30 million is expected to be added to this funding round later in the year, incorporating more investors and strategic partners.
Over the past year, Mythical Games has shown impressive performance, attracting more than 2.5 million new users and exceeding $1 million in daily gross sales. The company is credited with creating engaging game titles like NFL Rivals and Blankos Block Party. The soon-to-be-released Nitro Nation World Tour is also expected to bolster the company’s performance further.
Mythical Games CEO, John Linden, expressed optimism about the company’s future growth. He detailed: “With over a million mobile downloads of NFL Rivals since launch last month and averaging over $1 million in daily transactions via the Mythical Chain, we are focused on getting the company to profitability and are seeing our vision realized and our strategy paying off. Last year – thanks to Blankos Block Party – Mythical was one of the few web3 games to reach over 1 million player accounts.”
