Origins Goes Multi-Platform as Play Solana Opens Its RPG to Browsers and Seeker

origins goes multi platform as play solana opens its rpg to browsers and seeker In Brief:

In Brief:

  • Play Solana has taken its RPG Origins to web browsers and to Solana Mobile’s Seeker handset.
  • Until now the game sat behind the company’s PSG1 handheld and was gated to holders of the Player 1 NFT.
  • The change severs the studio’s flagship title from the $329 device it was designed to help sell.

With Origins now live on the web and on Seeker, Play Solana has opened its debut game to players who never bought a PSG1 handheld.

Before this, the game was a console exclusive. Origins was introduced as the PSG1’s first title, and access ran through the Player 1 NFT, a collection capped at 2,000 holders. The game can now be loaded by anyone with a browser at origins.playsolana.com.

We're officially launching PlaySolana Origins on Web & Mobile (Seeker).

In the X post announcing the rollout, Play Solana said: “Going multi-platform means a bigger, more connected player pool from day one.”

The price of a hardware gate

Shipping began Oct. 6, 2025 for the PSG1, with the Original Edition priced at $329. Inside is an octa-core ARM chip paired with 8GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, while the front carries a 3.92-inch OLED touchscreen running at 1240×1080. The software layer is EchOS, an Android build tuned for gaming. Both a SvalGuard hardware wallet and a fingerprint sensor are built into the device.

A Pudgy Penguins Edition was also sold by Play Solana at $349, with every sale firing off an automatic $PENGU burn. Editions customized for MonkeDAO, dogwifcoin, momo AI and $GIGA Chad rounded out the lineup.

How many people could actually reach Origins was capped by those units. Roughly one minute was all it took for the Player 1 collection to sell out, spanning 2,000 wallets. Console buyers widened the pool somewhat, but the addressable audience remained pegged to units shipped.

Why Seeker matters

Seeker hands Play Solana an installed base far bigger than anything its own hardware could offer. Shipments of the phone started Aug. 5, 2025 in more than 50 countries, and Solana Mobile has said preorders shipped topped 150,000. A non-transferable Genesis Token is minted by each handset.

Apps reach the phone through the Solana dApp Store, which takes no platform fee. SKR, the ecosystem token for Solana Mobile, arrived Jan. 21, 2026 through an airdrop to eligible users.

The port was less of a stretch than building from scratch because Play ID — the identity layer Play Solana uses to tie a player’s activity to a persistent onchain persona — was already functioning across both the PSG1 and the browser.

Token and surrounding stack

$PLAY launched Oct. 13, 2025, arriving a week after consoles began shipping. Of the 5 billion total supply, 56% went to the community and 44% was allocated elsewhere. Early supporters could claim the airdrop starting Nov. 14, 2025, the same date MEXC listed the token in its Innovation Zone with a PLAYSOLANA/USDT pair alongside a 75,000 USDT rewards event. A day later, withdrawals were switched on.

Listing day saw the token trade at roughly $0.03. Its floor came near $0.0036 on Jan. 11, 2026.

Several first-party components surround Origins: PlayVERSE, the PSG1’s dApp store; PlayDex, which houses quests and staking; PlayGate, which writes console publishing receipts for APK and AAB builds onchain; and SvalGuard, which pushes staking, swaps and liquidity through Jupiter from inside a hardware-protected enclave.

Nov. 28, 2025 marked the start of Season 1, bringing PlayDex quests that turn XP into $PLAY. Console owners and NFT holders still have a handful of those quests to themselves.

Battles

Player-versus-player combat landed in Origins ahead of the multi-platform expansion. Finding it takes a few steps: update the game, head to the brick DAO Building, climb to Floor 2, and check the bottom-left corner for Player1.
