Sport1 Forms a Strategic Alliance with Starzz to Boost Fan Engagement

In a major move to embrace the blockchain revolution, German sports channel Sport1 has formed a strategic alliance with blockchain-based fan engagement platform Starzz LLC. The partnership will not only see Sport1 acquiring an equity stake in Starzz but also integrating Starzz on its TV, digital, audio, and social media channels.

A Focused Approach on Web3 Technology

The collaboration signifies an aim to exploit the potential of Web3 technology, focusing on fostering a direct, interactive connection between stars and fans. According to Sport1, this collaboration is perfect for creating and exploring new opportunities that leverage blockchain technology while capitalizing on existing market access.

Fan Engagement via Blockchain

Starzz aims to heighten the interaction among sports clubs, athletes, celebrities, content creators, and fans through its Supporterzz.com platform. The platform promises to offer a social media network with newsfeeds, streaming capabilities, and additional features. It also intends to establish a marketplace for merchandising and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), in addition to other uses like ticketing, marketing services, and user incentive and reward mechanisms.

The platform is scheduled to launch in December 2023, while user registrations are currently open at starzz.eu. In conjunction with the Fanzz Exchange, the Supporterzz.com platform will be supported by the native SRZ non-fungible token and Champion NFTs.

The unique aspect of the Starzz universe is the ability for ‘Champions’, a term that refers to sports clubs, athletes, celebrities, and content creators, to create their own Champion tokens. These tokens will enable fans to participate in polls on the Supporterzz.com platform, giving them the power to influence various aspects such as selecting a soccer team’s jersey for the next season or picking the tracks on a musician’s album.
