SportsVisio, a developer of AI-based tools for sports analysis and content sharing, has raised $3.2 million in new funding.
The round includes participation from Sony Innovation Fund, Mighty Capital, and several others. With this latest raise, the company’s total funding now stands at $9 million. The investment will help expand the platform into more sports, increase its global reach, and boost sales and marketing efforts.
Strong Support from New and Existing Investors
Alongside new backers such as Alumni Ventures, Waterstone Impact Fund, and strategic angel investors, the round included renewed support from existing investors Sapphire Sport, Hyperplane, and Sovereign’s Capital. The involvement of Sony Innovation Fund stands out, given Sony’s long-standing interest in technology and entertainment. According to Austin Noronha, managing director at Sony Ventures USA, the SportsVisio platform is helping reshape how sports content is created and shared, especially among younger and amateur players.
Mighty Capital also expressed confidence in SportsVisio’s product. Jennifer Vancini, general partner at the firm, praised the company’s combination of advanced AI technology with easy-to-use features, which has led to strong engagement across its user base.
Expanding to More Sports and International Markets
SportsVisio currently serves basketball and volleyball, but it plans to grow into sports like baseball. The company aims to support athletes and coaches across all levels, from youth teams to professionals, both in the U.S. and globally.
CEO Jason Syversen stated that the company’s mission is to provide athletes and coaches with data-driven insights to improve performance. The new funding will help scale its AI tools and make them more widely available.
New Product Features to Enhance Coaching and Analysis
Recently, the company released several new tools to enhance the experience for users. “Coach Mode” gives coaches detailed performance data and helps analyze team behavior during games. A new volleyball platform and a dedicated 3×3 basketball product have also been launched, offering automated highlights and advanced statistics powered by AI.
These developments are part of a broader effort to create sport-specific tools that offer valuable insights through video and data analysis.
Today, SportsVisio is used by over 150 leagues and teams in 16 countries. More than 16,000 users rely on its platform for video analysis and performance insights. With AI tools becoming more important in sports, the company is aiming to become a key player in the space by supporting both athletic performance and fan engagement.
