Square Enix is Minting Hundreds of New Final Fantasy NFTs On Enjin Blockchain

Square Enix mints on enjin platform

It’s no secret that one of the most respected gaming studios, Square Enix, has expressed its intentions to usher in a new wave of gaming by using blockchain technology to offer real property rights to gamers worldwide.

Back in 2022, Yosuke Matsuda CEO of Square Enix, wrote an insightful open letter delving into the benefits of blockchain and the risks that exist when it’s not applied intelligently.

Since then, Square Enix has used Enjins Efinity stack to mint Final Fantasy NFTsImmutable X to sell NFTs for its Japanese game Shi-San-Sei, and sold three major IPs (Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, and Thief | Legacy of Kain) for 300$ Million to THQ Nordic to invest in blockchain gaming.

Earlier this year, the company verified its intentions for blockchain gaming, AI, and cloud computing.

One can understand that Square Enix is working towards a new gaming paradigm that offers players transparency, freedom, and decentralization. While we didn’t have any significant news during the bear market, things will heat up since the upcoming bull run brings even more interest in play-to-earn economies and mature game design and development thinking.

As such, games built on the Enjin Platform are also evolving with the announcements of Kingdom Karnage, ENJ Explorers, Etherscape, Bezogia, and more coming to Enjin’s new blockchain, which only completed its migration three months ago.

After all, Enjin is the pioneer of asset interoperability (The Multiverse); they have been pushing Web3 gaming forward since 2017, and Square Enix may be ready to join the fight for true property rights for players.

Square Enix started testing the Enjin platform in 2022; now that the Enjin Ecosystem has launched its new blockchain, wallet, marketplace, and minting portal all in the last year, Square Enix seems satisfied with the technology and has decided to mint Final Fantasy NFTs.

At eGamers, we hope to see Square Enix charting the path for NFT game usage. The games market needs to understand how to use this technology to empower players and improve their lives, and Square Enix is the perfect studio to pave the way in this respect.

We can’t predict the future, but we feel this will be a wild ride.
