Red Dead Redemption 2 is nearly a decade old, and players still keep coming back. The single-player campaign eventually runs out of road. Red Dead Online doesn’t, and Rockstar has just rolled out another round of free monthly content to make the point.
The one thing to watch is the calendar. Unless noted otherwise, everything below expires at the end of August, so leaving the whole lot until the final weekend is a bad plan.
Telegram Missions are where the money is
A Tough Business, Skelding’s Contract, Strange Tales of the West and others are all handing out 3X RDO$, XP and Gold right through the end of August. It’s the anchor of the entire event, and easily the quickest route to padding your balances before the month rolls over.

Collectors eat well this month
Complete any Collector Set Sales and you’ll bank 3X RDO$, Role XP and XP. Discovering Collectibles, meanwhile, pays 3X Role XP until the month is out.
Then there’s the Condor Egg. Anyone who hunts down that prized find walks away with an extra 3X RDO$ and XP on top. The detour pays for itself.
The Frontiersman Outfit, piece by piece
Across the month, hitting specific collector ranks and simply logging in during the event will earn you individual pieces of the Frontiersman Outfit. It’s exactly the sort of slow-drip reward loop that gets people booting up the game on a random Tuesday.
The Tailors and the Catalogue are stocking the Griffith Chaps, Menasco Hat, Gardenia Hat, Clymene Coat and Cardozo Vest, every one of them on offer until August 31.
Free Roam pays out too
Taking part in the Trade Route Free Roam Event nets 3X RDO$ and XP. There’s no trick to it. Turn up, do the work, collect triple.
Why this still matters
Themed monthly events remain Rockstar’s primary tool for keeping the game breathing, with every one of them bringing its own rewards and incentives along. The cadence is predictable at this point, but it does the job.
No new Red Dead Redemption title is on the horizon any time soon. Which leaves this: grinding through fresh content until Rockstar decides to say something about the franchise’s future.
In the meantime, that Condor Egg is sitting out there somewhere, and August will be gone faster than you expect.
