Three selling points led the post: “Thousand monster swarms,” “Dynamic zone bosses” and “Relentless progression.” No release date was mentioned.

Launch date still unconfirmed

On Steam, the release is listed as “Coming soon,” and the page notes that a demo can be downloaded. The studio had pointed to a Q3 2026 launch window earlier this year, but that quarter wrapped up on Sept. 30.

The listing names AlwaysGeeky Games Inc. as developer and publisher alike. Steam classifies the title under the Action, Casual, Indie and RPG tags.

System requirements on the store page call for Windows 11 or macOS Sonoma and later, and the game carries a verified and optimized badge for Steam Deck. Supported modes include single-player, online co-op, shared and split-screen co-op, and Remote Play Together. Seven languages are offered: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Greek and Portuguese.

Objectives instead of pure survival

Rather than a straightforward endurance challenge, the studio describes the game as a bullet heaven roguelite built around a story and defined objectives. According to its Steam listing, players “Break monster swarms, lockdown rescue missions, and crush apex bosses as you weave through deep story driven chaos.”

Per the store description, enemy swarms respond to the player’s movement. Surviving a run means finishing field missions and uncovering story clues, which in turn unlock character upgrades and rolls for fresh weapon combinations.

Defeating a boss triggers escape portals PORTALS $0.003273 ▲ +8.2% at the close of a round, feeding into a meta progression system built on permanent upgrades. The game also supports Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing.

Steam Next Fest appearance

Voxies announced on May 28 that the game would take part in Steam Next Fest on June 15. Alongside that news, it revealed a tournament carrying a 40,000 VOXEL prize pool, which was already underway at the time of the announcement.

The game’s first public reveal came in a March 31 post on X from AlwaysGeeky. “Voxie Survivor coming soon from AlwaysGeeky Games,” the studio said.

Background

Voxie Tactics launched in 2021 on Polygon. Inspired by tactics games of the 1990s and 2000s, it offers PvP battles along with PvE modes like Dragonfest. Its Voxie characters and assets exist as NFTs, and the game features forging, leveling and pets.

VOXEL is an ERC-20 utility token with a 300 million total supply, 105 million of which is in circulation. It is used to purchase assets, upgrades and services, players earn it through PvP battles, and its distribution is scheduled across five years.

As the Survivor teaser went out, a brief message from AlwaysGeeky’s previous promotional push remained pinned to the studio’s feed: “It’s getting hot in here!”
