On Steam, Aurory is credited as the developer and the publisher. The store page describes the game as “A creature-collecting extraction RPG where every expedition is a risk. Charm wild Amiko and fight alongside them across an untamed world shaped by your actions.”
What the demo includes
The free demo launched on Oct. 7, before Next Fest kicked off. It will only be available for a limited time. Progress won’t transfer to the full game, since the team is still optimizing parts of the progression system.
Players catch wild creatures known as Amiko, assemble a team and set out on expeditions to gather resources. Anything you collect is only kept if you extract safely. Combat is PvE against NPCs, and there’s also a PvP mode in the demo.
According to the studio’s Steam Q&A, a co-op PvE mode is in development.
Aurory’s own pitch for the game is “Pokémon meets ARC Raiders.”
What changed after the closed beta
The closed beta took place between June 16 and July 21. After it wrapped, the team promised new story quests, more Amiko, new bosses and a better start for newcomers. It also said an open beta might arrive ahead of Early Access.
The opening is where the demo differs most. “One of the biggest things we learned during the June Closed Beta was that we needed to do a better job of introducing players to Amiko Legends and its mechanics,” Aurory wrote in its Steam patch notes. Lore, combat, charming and extracting are now covered in the new opening.
The notes also said: “Finally, your Avatar can now jump.” The first biome in the demo was rebuilt with that in mind. It has new areas, new traversal routes and treasures that can only be reached by exploring vertically.
Aurory listed other changes too: expanded Amiko progression, new single-player challenges, improvements to Blitz battles and bug fixes.
Platforms and limitations
The demo is available in English only. Steam Deck and gamepads aren’t supported.
Gamepad support is coming with the full game. In the Steam Q&A, a developer posting as tim said Steam Deck support is “planned within the first year after the full game’s release.”
At launch, the full game will be in English, Chinese and French. German, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish are planned for later. Tim said the team is concentrating on PC for now, though “other platforms” could be considered down the line.
Steam lists these minimum specs: Windows 11 64-bit, an Intel i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 8GB of RAM, a GTX 1070 or RX 5600 XT and 15GB of storage.
Price and release plans
The target for Early Access is the end of 2026. Tim said Amiko Legends will be “a one-time-purchase premium game on Steam.” No price has been announced.
There are no blockchain or NFT disclosures on the Steam page. On the Epic Games Store, a game called Amiko is listed as an Early Access title, with notices about blockchain and NFTs and account creation linked to a Solana wallet. Nobody has confirmed how that earlier release connects to the Steam version or whether any of those features will carry over.
Before it became Amiko Legends in October 2025, the game was called Seekers of Tokane.
The studio said in the Steam Q&A that people created “All visuals, characters, creatures, environment and art” in the game, and that no generative AI was used.
