Two words are painted on the side of a Goodyear blimp that is now floating over the eastern United States: Vice City.
Posts spreading across social media claim that one of the three Goodyear blimps operating in the U.S. has been given the Vice City lettering. In the source material, Rockstar Games has made no official comment, so at this point it’s a sighting reported on social media. It looks a lot like the latest GTA 6 marketing stunt, and a strange one at that.
“The Vice City blimp is now in the air! #GTAVI,” read one post that was shared widely.
Ohio first, then possibly Florida
According to reports, the blimp left Ohio on a course for North Carolina. People expect Florida to be the next leg, but that is a guess. No flight plan has been published.
A Florida stop would fit. In GTA, Vice City stands in for Miami, and most of this campaign has played out in Miami.
Another post seems to show the blimp has already made it there. “Stunning footage of the GTA 6 Blimp flying around Kaseya Center in Miami, with the Vice City sign lit up at night,” the post said.
The Miami Heat are involved
Kaseya Center is home to the Miami Heat, and Rockstar announced a partnership with the team not long ago. For an NBA game on Nov. 18, the Heat will turn their arena into Vice City.
Work on that has already begun. On the roof there’s a large lit-up sign that reads “Welcome to Vice City,” with the GTA 6 logo beside it.
The timing is deliberate. The Heat play on Nov. 18, and GTA 6 is expected to release on Nov. 19, 2026, which puts the Vice City night at the arena on the eve of launch. With a blimp also circling the building, the campaign is trying to make the real Miami skyline look like the game’s.
For now, a Goodyear blimp carrying the name of a made-up city is flying somewhere over the Carolinas.
