champz opens champz o ween with halloween items available until nov 1 In Brief:

In Brief:

  • Champz has launched Champz-O-Ween, a Halloween season that lasts until Nov. 1.
  • According to the team, players can collect limited Halloween items until the season ends.
  • The event is part of Champz OG, the studio’s first browser RPG. It now runs on Base next to Legends of Champz, the studio’s newer arena game.

Champz-O-Ween has started. The studio announced the Halloween season on its official X account and urged players to pick up seasonal gear before it ends on Nov. 1.

“It’s Alive, It’s Alive! The Champz-0-Ween event is live!” the team wrote. “This special season runs through November 1st, get you Halloween Items as fast as you can.”

The announcement gave no details on which items are available, their drop rates or the rewards.

A nine-day window

When the team first announced it, the event was called a “Cinematic Halloween Event” scheduled for Oct. 24 through Nov. 1. Players get nine days to grab the seasonal drops before they disappear.

The launch post also gave credit to the people who make the game. “We have great appreciation for our community and our CTO dev team and staff,” the team said.

The post ended with a note for players setting out: “Stay safe from the Haunts during your exploration,”

Ahead of the launch, the team promoted a Halloween AMA on X Spaces for Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. UTC. It was advertised as including “Alpha Leaks of our New Game for the Champz Ecosystem.”

Not the first Halloween run

This isn’t Champz’s first Halloween season. The changelog on the game’s fan wiki lists a Halloween update, v1.4.0b, dated Oct. 30, 2023. That patch brought Halloween events, items, enemies and quests, and the Halloween quests had an “Explore to Fight” mechanic.

This year’s launch post mentions “exploration,” which matches that loop. The team hasn’t confirmed whether the 2026 season brings the mechanic back.

Two games on Base

Champz is short for Champignons of Arborethia. It started out on Ethereum as a mushroom-themed browser RPG, with access gated by the $CHAMPZ token. Today it calls itself an indie gaming studio on Base, and it has two games.

Champz OG is the first one, an RPG with PvE and PvP battles, guilds, character progression, NFTs and a marketplace. The newer game, Legends of Champz, is a battle arena centered on fast ghost PvP and King-of-the-Hill matches. It has 20,000 pre-generated Legend NFTs and 400 Throne NFTs.

Characters in Champz OG are NFTs. Any Champ can be minted, and players have to mint and lock a Champ to keep playing.

Token and governance

According to the studio’s site, $CHAMPZ is an ERC-20 token on Base with a supply of 1 billion, all of which is circulating. The site also says the token has 0% tax, locked liquidity and a renounced contract.

Players spend $CHAMPZ as in-game currency and use it to buy Legend packs. The site says 20 percent of Legends transactions are burned.

Holders can vote on game changes in DAO polls. One past poll asked players whether Leprechauns should be made stronger. “Use your $CHAMPZ token to cast your vote,” the team wrote then. “This is your chance to decide how #Champz should evolve!”

Team

The studio’s site lists Matsta and Rawcat as founders. Enoch, MaDukery, Foxii and Kocyk make up the core team, and Morig, RiotX, KW and Virgil are on the extended team.

Champz-O-Ween closes on Nov. 1.
