In Brief:
- Calamity (official site) wrapped its Sunforge Season on Aug. 20, closing out eight weeks of play backed by a $20,000 prize pool distributed in WYRM, Gold and NFTs.
- Up next, according to the studio, is a Factory and cosmetics mint, with a new biome and dungeons update, an off-season event, community PvP tournaments and a new game mode in development to follow.
- No progress has been wiped and servers remain up, so players keep their season gear and Gold — while the WYRM token generation event still has no date.
Sunforge Season came to a close on Aug. 20, and Calamity left its servers switched on.
“The servers stay live; no wipes yet,” the team wrote in a post on X. A seasonal reset would typically wipe characters, equipment, Gold and leaderboard placement, though cosmetics held at the account level roll over from one cycle to the next.

What ships next
Five items made the studio’s list, none of them dated: “Factory & Cosmetics mint incoming,” a “New biome & major dungeons update,” an “Off-season event,” “Community PvP tournaments” and a “New game mode in development.” For specifics, it directed players to Discord.
Of those, the mint is the item on a timer. In-game Gold buys seasonal cosmetic lootboxes, but the cosmetics they hold can only be minted as NFTs once the event that produced them has wrapped. Skip the mint and they’re gone.
Utility runs deeper on the Factory NFTs. Supply caps at 9,999, launch pricing was $40, and the assets can be staked for WYRM. Owning one grants a personal space in-game, daily Factory Lootboxes at no cost — stocked with cosmetics, items and PvP-usable consumables — plus exclusive entry to the Factory Zone. Connected wallets determine ownership. A 1,650 WYRM airdrop at TGE is planned for every Tier 1 Factory, and staking can add as much as 3,850 more over a three-month span.
The season
Running from June 25 through Aug. 20, Sunforge put $20,000 up for grabs across WYRM, Gold and NFTs. Players progressed along a PvE track known as Conquest alongside two PvP tracks, Duelist and Combatant.
Three reworked economic systems also featured in the season: Holder Production, the Fortune’s Veil Lottery and Silver Tribute. Rather than arriving as one lump sum at the season’s close, Tribute payouts came through on a weekly basis.
Playing the game is how Factories climb tiers. Merging lower-tier units into stronger ones takes resource management, keeping them tied to the crafting loop instead of amounting to a direct purchase of power. Crafting is not something Calamity lets you skip — drops by themselves won’t yield high-end gear.
Still no token
WYRM’s TGE remains unrealized. Under Calamity’s Q3 2025 roadmap, the token generation event was scheduled to follow the play-to-airdrop campaign and a public sale restricted to NFT holders, with the first post-TGE season coming after that. No new dates have been attached to the sequence since.
In the meantime, the on-chain layer operates via Wyrm Tribute, which turns in-game Gold into dollars at a fixed rate of 100 Gold to $1. An on-chain Auction House handles item trading. At TGE, holders of Dragon Rings are due 5% of total supply, weighted by the rarity of the original Artifact.
Developed by Something is Cooking, Calamity is a free-to-play 2D top-down action RPG built around real-time dungeon combat, 3v3 PvP and seasonal progression. Open beta covers Windows, macOS and Android, and the game’s Web3 layer is optional and built on Ronin. There’s no confirmed VC backing behind the self-funded studio. Neither a wallet nor an NFT is needed to play the core game.
For a read on the actual payout math, look to the last full playtest before Sunforge. “Higher Stakes” took place March 12 to March 22, distributing roughly $45,000 in WYRM between PvE and PvP leaderboards and adding a standalone $5,000 USDC Wyrm Tribute pool, for a total of 5,484,500 WYRM. None of it gets distributed until after TGE, and the eventual value hinges on where the token prices when it launches.
