Laguna Games and Crypto Unicorns DAO Announce Closure of Unicorn Party

US developer Laguna Games and the Crypto Unicorns DAO have made a joint announcement regarding the closure of the Unicorn Party. Unicorn Party was a collection of games based on the intellectual property of the Crypto Unicorns, aimed at expanding the audience by providing simpler gameplay and reward systems.

The titles included in Unicorn Party, such as Bumpercorns, Mob Run, Unicorn Trivia, and real-money wagering features, have now been sunsetted.

The decision to thin out Unicorn Party to focus on developing new casual browser and mobile apps, with competitive wagering features, behind the flagship game Crypto Unicorns, posed challenges. Scaling these new mobile and browser games without significant marketing efforts has proven to be difficult for the developers.

On the bright side, Crypto Unicorns has experienced a resurgence since migrating from Polygon to relaunch on Xai. The developer plans to migrate Rainbow Rumble, a Fall Guys-style casual browser game, to the Xai network shortly.
