In Brief:
- MegaCryptoPolis (official site) is reorienting around AI agents, giving players the ability to automate the running of their cities.
- Citizens will handle jobs such as seeking employment and swapping resources on their own, with no need for players to step in.
- A new gameplay trailer arrives October 26, showing AI support across decision-making.
The game takes a new direction
MegaCryptoPolis is adopting an AI agent model in which players simply set objectives while Citizens autonomously look after assets inside the game’s economy. This marks a move away from the original setup, where deliveries and resource oversight were the job of couriers.
Citizens run by AI
Under the refreshed version, Citizens will carry out actions including applying for work, creating and trading resources, and managing buildings. Their choices will weigh factors such as distance, time, stamina, and rivalry with other Citizens. One sample instruction reads, “Find the most profitable work nearby, preserve enough stamina to return home, and reinvest half your earnings.” Players define the policies; the AI takes care of the finer points.
Automation takes center stage
The rework turns MegaCryptoPolis into a livelier world, driving economic activity without demanding long stretches of playtime. Players will, however, need to pay the inference costs tied to running different AIs such as Claude, Codex, Hermes, and OpenClaw.
More to be revealed
Further details, along with a trailer showcasing the new gameplay, will be unveiled on October 26. The pivot marks a major evolution in how players will engage with the game’s virtual economy.
