How Games Work On Xaya
Developers can build games in almost any programming language using the Xaya SDK.
Games run on Xaya Daemon (Xayad) or any other base layer chain like Ethereum or Polygon). With special accounts on the blockchain network, players can sign and make new moves in the game. Move data is stored on the network in a similar way to Bitcoin or Ethereum transactions being stored in a decentralized ledger.
Game Channels
Xaya’s Game Channels connect players through a peer-to-peer secure and fast network where they can make moves and share game state in a turn-based fashion. It allows them to play MMO games in real-time with an unlimited number of moves.
Game State Processors
Game states are computed automatically by Game State Processors which are separate applications detached from blockchain nodes. Miners on the network only verify that the blockchain transaction itself is valid and do not have to verify each move to verify the validity of the current game state. Since every move does not have to be computed using a smart contract, modern games can run seamlessly on Xaya, and transaction fees are very low.
The current game state is sent to the Front-End (GUI) by GSP and players can experience what is happening in the game in real-time.
Xaya Lite Mode
Xaya Lite Mode is designed for games where players receive game states from a centralized network. Players can use wallets such as Metamask or Electrum to play the game. The player has to only remember the “seed phrase” of their wallet to keep their game progress secure.
CHI Coin
CHI coin is the native cryptocurrency of Xaya. All transactions and moves on the Xaya blockchain are powered by CHI mining fees.
According to CoinMarketCap, CHI coin has a total supply of 55.68 million, out of which 46.53 million are currently in circulation. The total market cap is $5.25 million at the time of writing this article.
Xaya has recently expanded the CHI coin to Binance Smart Chain. In April, Xaya launched WCHI on Ethereum as well.
