How the draw works this season
Essence fuels Crafting, with each draw priced at 1,000. Managers who pay in receive 10 face-down cards and have the option to burn additional Essence on Clues ahead of the reveal, among them league and nationality hints plus a Keep Best Five choice.
Sorare 27 also makes permanent the tiering setup trialled late last season. The old T0 through T5 labels, scrapped in a May 13 update on Sorare Pro, have given way to Reserve, Roster, Key, Star and Icon.
Minutes played drive daily updates for the three lowest tiers. Star and Icon slots are assigned manually so that every league’s most in-demand names sit at the top, and because Pro crafting merges the two into one pool, the Highest Tier Clue reveals that a player is four or five stars without specifying which.
Limited, Rare and Super Rare all fall under tiering. Uniques operate on a separate system.
Essence is seasonal now
Supply mechanics were reworked this year. Balances no longer carry over intact: Sorare 26 Essence converts into Sorare 27 Essence along a degressive curve that gets stingier the larger the stockpile.
Holdings below 1,000 Essence 26 yield zero Essence 27, only Craft Clues. The maximum payout is 15,000 Essence 27 — hit at 150,000 Essence 26 — equal to 15 crafts. Amounts over that ceiling are not destroyed; Sorare said the surplus is handed back as extra rewards, unlike last season, when anything beyond roughly the 13,000 equivalent simply disappeared.
The company presented the curve as a way to shield the Sorare 27 economy from a wave of day one crafts while still giving savers something back.
Where the three leagues sit
Each league received its Early Access drop ahead of its opening fixtures. On Wednesday, July 29, Sorare held a three-hour boosted window starting at 4 p.m. CET that spanned the Scottish, Austrian and Croatian competitions.
Cards obtained during that window come with a Pro Mode scoring bonus for their league’s first four matchdays — 10% for Reserve, Roster and Key players, 5% for Star and Icon. Super Rare and Unique prize money in the Rest of the World Arena rose to $45,000 for the duration of the boost, and as much as $3,000 was on offer for a full In-Season Rare lineup over those opening four matchdays. Collection Missions launched together with the SPFL rollout.
Sorare classifies both the SPFL and the Austrian Bundesliga as Challenger tier. The Croatian HNL and the Austrian Bundesliga were folded into Arena Contender on July 22, the divisionless head-to-head format in which advancing Hot Streaks calls for five Limited cards, or four Limited plus one Rare, with reward multipliers reaching 2x.
Background
Launched in July, Sorare 27 runs until the European season wraps up in May 2027. LaLiga EA SPORTS is already live, Liga Portugal arrived via a direct league agreement that brought Porto, Benfica and Sporting on board, and every one of Ligue 1’s 18 clubs is now included.
For the season opener, Sorare piled 2x onto the earliest Pro Mode steps and 3x onto the biggest, which was worth up to $12,000 on the final step, alongside 2x Arena rewards across all three scarcities during the opening two Game Weeks. Some of that money came from a partnership that had been planned but collapsed, and Sorare said it rerouted the funds into beefier Rare Arena rewards and a Classic Rare bonus in Pro.
Twelve clubs began the Scottish Premiership season on Aug. 1. Dinamo Zagreb enters the Croatian campaign as holders of a 26th title.
