STEPN Puts a $20 Price Tag on the Marathon Season 3 Season Pass

stepn puts a 20 price tag on the marathon season 3 season pass In Brief:

In Brief:

  • STEPN (official site) has set the Marathon Season Pass for Season 3 at 20 USD, a single purchase that spans the whole season.
  • Bundled into the pass are STEPN perks, Marathon customization and extra rewards layered on top of the usual challenge payouts — but the 14-day completion requirement stays exactly where it is.
  • Six rounds of 14 days make up Season 3, with entries locked at 50, 100 or 200 USD. Sept. 7 marks the end of Round 2.

The Season 3 Marathon Season Pass carries a 20 USD price tag from STEPN, the same figure the first two seasons carried when they were denominated in GGUSD and USDC.

“At 20 USD, the Marathon Season Pass unlocks benefits across the entire season, combining STEPN perks, Marathon customization, and additional rewards,” the company said in a post on X.

What the pass covers

STEPN’s Season 3 breakdown lists exclusive avatars, extra Marathon name changes and premium identity features for holders. VIP status comes with it as well.

What the pass won’t do is soften the challenge. Anyone holding one still needs 14 out of 14 days in each round to hang on to their entry — the identical bar every other participant has to clear.

During previous seasons, buyers could pick the pass up at any stage of the 12-week run, and rewards were applied retroactively to weeks already completed. There are no refunds.

How the season works

Registration opened Aug. 3 at 10 a.m. UTC before closing Aug. 10 at noon UTC. The first round ran from Aug. 10 until Aug. 24 at 12 a.m. UTC. Round 2 kicked off at 12 a.m. UTC on Aug. 24 and runs to Sept. 7; Round 1 finishers were carried over automatically, while anyone joining late had until noon UTC on Aug. 24 to register.

Participants choose a reward pool by locking 50, 100 or 200 USD. Daily requirements scale with the tier: two Energy per day at 50, four at 100 and six at 200. Multiple tiers are allowed, and the Energy can be spent in either STEPN or STEPN GO.

Skip a single day and you’re out for that round, with the locked entry forfeited. Complete all 14 and the entry is returned along with a share of what the dropouts left on the table, plus automatic enrollment in the following round unless you opt out.

What’s new in Season 3

A single missed day can now be covered by insurance. It must be bought before a round begins, is sold separately for each reward pool, and its price moves dynamically according to registrations and how many succeeded in the previous round. Unused coverage doesn’t roll into the next round.

Teams got a rebuild. Players can spin up or join a group with custom branding, leaders are able to push notices and reminders, and Team Rewards in GGBoxes and Keys go out to top-performing teams every round. Performance across all six rounds is tallied on a Season Team Leaderboard.

Enhanced Profiles keep tabs on Marathon history, achievements, statistics and performance over the course of the season. STEPN also reworked the challenge interface so daily progress is easier to follow.

Where the pass came from

The Season Pass was first laid out by STEPN at its October townhall, presented alongside the Marathon Challenge feature itself.

Season 1 pitched it as a premium reward track, stacked with extra Marathon Boxes, exclusive badges and backgrounds, Starlets, GGUSD coupons and raffle mints for Marathon Sneakers. Season 2 kept the price at 20 USDC while adding teams and a team leaderboard ranked by total Energy spent.

The pass has served as a gate on the season finale, too. Holders in Season 1 who finished a 42-kilometer marathon or a 21-kilometer half marathon within the STEPNathon event window walked away with a LEGEND badge, an exclusive background and a raffle entry for Genesis Sneakers bearing limited skins.

“Season Pass holders unlock premium rewards on top of their GGUSD and free rewards, plus eligibility for STEPNathon at the end of the season! Stay consistent,” STEPN posted on Day 10 of an earlier round.
