Din Djarin has punched back in. The Mandalorian and Grogu, which arrived in theaters in May, has landed on Disney Plus, dropping Mando and his puppet sidekick into the young New Republic as bounty hunters tracking Empire loyalists out to the galaxy’s edges.
That’s the headline release this weekend. It’s far from the only one.
If you’d rather get out of the house, Coyote vs Acme and Onslaught are playing in theaters. If you’d rather not, there’s plenty waiting at home between rentals and streaming — and a handful of these are odder than their marketing lets on.
Mando grew up. So did the kid.
The Mandalorian already feels like a relic of another era. It launched a fresh generation of Star Wars storytelling on the small screen and introduced us to Din Djarin and his tiny apprentice. The film gives the pair a new adventure, fresh faces, unfamiliar planets and some long-overdue growth for the galaxy’s cutest baby.
Chronologically, it lands after The Mandalorian season 3 and Ahsoka season 1. Not that it matters much. Everything you need arrives in a static title card — no crawling text this time — laying out that Din Djarin (voiced by Pedro Pascal, with much of the physical performance handled by Lateef Crowder and Brendan Wayne) and Grogu now work as bounty hunters for the New Republic under Colonel Ward, played by Sigourney Weaver.
Scary Movie came back and brought everybody

Cindy, Brenda, Ray and Shorty have lived through no shortage of horror at this point, and here a new Ghostface awaits them while the film skewers the movies that define the current horror boom.

Dark Hollow unfolds in an Appalachian town where a mining accident throws off the natural order and a creature climbs out of one of the caves. A mother is left to shield her family whatever the cost. It’s a simple engine, and the film doesn’t ask for more.

Mayday unfolds in the 1980s Soviet Union and tracks a US Navy pilot on a clandestine mission who is shot down over enemy ground by a former KGB agent. The wrinkle is the agent’s fixation on American culture, which turns the situation into an improbable alliance.
The nightmare stopped staying in her head
Parasomnia centers on Riley, a young woman struggling with night terrors in the wake of traumatic experiences. When her best friend disappears, Riley becomes convinced that the demon stalking her dreams has broken loose and gone after her.
