The alpha it follows
Alien Legends opened its alpha April 16 and ran it until June 1. Anyone with a WAX wallet could play at alienlegends.io, and the game runs fully in the browser.
Entry required holding at least five Alien Legends fighters. Battles also needed one Alien Worlds Crew NFT and one Arms NFT.
The team set the alpha’s purpose as finding bugs, collecting feedback and improving the desktop experience. Its own documentation flagged mobile as working but potentially unpleasant because of scrolling, which is the kind of complaint the rebuilt client is aimed at.
Rewards and the reset
Alien Legends put up an estimated pool of more than 2,000,000 TLM and 10,000,000 Shards for alpha players, with another 1,000,000 Shards from gHubs. A separate 1,000,000 Shards was set aside for quality bug reports filed through Discord.
Trial accounts were capped at 10% of possible rewards.
Every player and landowner had progress wiped when the alpha closed, part of the move to the next phase. Gems bought in the in-game shop weren’t lost. Those are credited back to accounts when the next phase starts, and staked NFTs were returned once the alpha ended.
An external competition using the Alien Worlds smart contract followed the reset.
What the game is
Alien Legends comes from the team behind Mission Control, the community-built Alien Worlds mining client. It’s a squad-building strategy game across six planets, with familiar Alien Worlds races and lore.
Players construct buildings, recruit fighters with their own classes, races and abilities, then run dungeons and fight in arenas. Weekly tournaments, leaderboards and daily, weekly and monthly quests sit on top of that. Fighters can be ascended.
The world map is dotted with portals, recruitment taverns, dungeons and arenas. Arenas are built by Alien Worlds landowners, and landowner incentives were already live during the alpha alongside TLM and Shards payouts.
Staking Alien Worlds NFTs earns in-game credits.
Background
The project was one of the first Worker Proposal efforts to apply for Galactic Hubs co-funding and was originally slated to launch in 2025. A July 2025 development update covered competitive staking, squad building and the PvE and PvP modes.
Once the game reaches open beta, the team said there are no plans for further progress resets unless a major problem forces one.
The alpha notes were blunter about expectations at the time: players shouldn’t expect a flawless experience.
