In Brief:
- Doge Museum has put the first NFT marketplace live on DogeOS, with testing available on the network’s Chikyū testnet.
- Minting, listing, bidding, buying and selling are all supported, with a 5% fee on secondary sales and royalties settled at the time of sale.
- The team also teased the Dogeolith — described in its documentation as the first NFT ever minted on DogeOS — which will be airdropped to testnet holders once mainnet launches.
The first NFT marketplace on DogeOS is now open for testing, brought online by Doge Museum.
According to the team’s post on X, the deployment reached the Chikyū testnet on Oct. 8. Written in the style of a terminal log, the announcement ran from “deploying doge museum…” through to “status: OK.” All core actions — minting, listing, bidding, buying and selling — run through the contracts at doge.museum, with every trade settled on-chain in testnet DOGE.

The platform is built by Sofa Labs and bills itself as the official Doge Museum on DogeOS for minting, collecting and trading NFTs in DOGE. On DogeOS’s ecosystem page, it is listed as the network’s NFT marketplace.
Fees and royalties
Per the project’s documentation, secondary sales incur a 5% marketplace fee, on top of a creator royalty that is typically 2.5% where a collection defines one. Both cuts are taken from the sale price itself, so buyers pay exactly the listed amount.
Royalty handling follows EIP-2981: the collection declares a rate and a recipient, and the marketplace pays the royalty at settlement, inside the same transaction as the sale. Listing costs nothing, but because it is a transaction, sellers cover gas.
The marketplace also functions as a launchpad. Creators can run phased mints with allowlists, and collections deploy with the creator’s wallet set as owner, keeping control of royalties, phases and allowlists in their hands.
The Dogeolith
A collectible of the marketplace’s own is also in development. According to the docs, the Dogeolith is the first NFT ever minted on DogeOS. Minting it on testnet is free, and it will be airdropped to holders when mainnet arrives.
At mainnet, holders need do nothing beyond keeping the token in whichever wallet they want the airdropped version to land in. What counts, per the docs, is what a wallet holds at snapshot time.
An earlier post stated that all WOOFLISTED and Laika SuperApp OGs are whitelisted, with additional allowlist opportunities still to come. Every Dogeolith carries perks tied to the DogeOS ecosystem, among them exclusive rewards, early access and project airdrops.
Testnet context
DogeOS launched its public testnet on Sept. 30. Developed by the team behind the MyDoge wallet, the network is an EVM-compatible application layer built as a zero-knowledge rollup that settles to Dogecoin. DOGE is the sole gas token, the chain ID is 6281971, and a faucet hands out 42.069 test DOGE per day. The tokens hold no value.
The team pulled in $6.9 million in a round announced in May 2025. No mainnet date has been announced. “Mainnet comes with DogeOS mainnet,” the Doge Museum docs said.
“The testnet gives builders a place to turn ideas for Dogecoin into working applications,” DogeOS founder and CEO Jordan Jefferson said when the testnet opened. “The teams joining this ecosystem are tackling the pieces DOGE has been missing: markets, financial tools, games and more ways to use Dogecoin. Today marks the beginning of Dogecoin’s evolution from asset to ecosystem.”
Doge Museum is among several apps already running on Chikyū, alongside the Barkswap exchange, the Derps perpetuals platform and the MOAR lending protocol. Its docs are upfront about what trades are worth right now: real contracts, real trades, testnet DOGE.
The deployment post ended with a two-word teaser: “Dogeolith soon.”
