Back in July 2025, XRP was pushing toward $3.65 and the public couldn’t get enough of it on Google. Fast forward to mid-October 2026, and Google Trends data shows worldwide search interest in the token has dropped by more than 90% on an annual basis from that high.
The query’s popularity index currently reads just 13 points out of a possible 100. According to the data, no other shift in market sentiment has been this sharp, and it points to retail participants retreating into a deep wait-and-see stance.
One spike, then nothing
Zoom the chart all the way out to 2012, and the surge of mid-2025 appears as a solitary peak rising from otherwise flat terrain. On either side of it, search traffic registers at zero.
The picture over the past 12 months is no different. On an annual scale, search query volume has been cut by exactly half. A brief local uptick in August and September also proved short-lived, vanishing entirely by mid-October.
XRP isn’t the only coin nobody’s searching for
It would be a mistake to treat this as a collapse unique to XRP. Bitcoin, the largest coin, is likewise seeing search activity at multi-year lows. The crypto market appears to be in its own off-season, with indifference felt across the entire sector.
Still, XRP’s quiet spell has an unusual wrinkle. Although small traders are no longer clicking through, the price chart has stubbornly declined to slide any lower.
The price is stuck, not sinking
XRP is currently boxed into a tight range between $1.30 and $1.34, with key support holding near $1.25. That level is well below half of the $3.65 it reached when searches were at their peak. Even so, it is far from the freefall one might predict if a 90% decline in attention translated directly into price.
At the same time, the derivatives market has completely flushed out excess leverage and froth. With fewer overextended positions in play, there are fewer forced liquidations poised to cascade.
What the models expect next
The quiet on search engines unnerves speculators. Even so, prediction platforms and algorithmic models are in agreement that retail interest has hit its psychological bottom.
Their most probable scenario for the remainder of October is consolidation within the $1.40 to $1.50 range. That would represent a modest climb from XRP’s current trading level, though it remains a forecast rather than a guarantee.
The key takeaway: expecting fresh records is premature until the mass trader returns to Google. For anyone tracking that comeback, the Trends index is the cheapest signal available. A reading climbing up from 13 would reveal more than any price target, and this sort of calm on an annual scale may end up forming a solid base for the next long-term cycle.
