WEMADE’s Unreal Engine 5 MMORPG Legend of YMIR (official site) has now been running worldwide for a full year, and the update marking its first anniversary is live. It brings a new Assassin class plus a second Boot Camp server built to speed up levelling. WEMADE has also laid out a content roadmap covering October through December.
You can play the game right now. Its setting is a dark reworking of Norse mythology, and large-scale Server Battles make up a big share of the action. According to WEMADE, updates and events have kept arriving since launch. This latest one targets current players as well as people starting from scratch or returning after a break.
The Assassin class and Boot Camp Season 2
In WEMADE’s words, the Assassin is an agile fighter that hits hard and handles differently from the classes already in the game. The update supports class changes, so existing players can move to the Assassin and keep the character progress they’ve already built.
Boot Camp Season 2 runs as its own growth server for new and returning players. Characters there get +600% EXP until Level 65, plus hunting buffs and items that help with levelling. WEMADE wants newer characters to close the gap with veterans fast.
Anniversary rewards
- More than 100,000 people signed up for pre-registration. Hitting that number unlocks the 1st Anniversary Legendary Companion for every active player, and those who pre-registered receive exclusive bonus rewards on top.
- Players who clear in-game missions during the anniversary event get a Legendary-grade Disir and Valkyrie.
- The Einherjar Fellowship referral event pays out for bringing in new or returning players. Those invited collect rewards when they accept an invite and finish the required missions. Inviters receive tiered rewards that scale with the number of completed fellowships. Rewards are Epic- and Legendary-grade items, and the highest-ranked inviters can win Mythical-grade rewards.
- Over on the official social channels, community events hand out more prizes to players who share anniversary messages and post screenshots from the game.
What’s coming in December
December brings Mythical-grade Disirs and Valkyries. At the same time, Boot Camp participants get a 14-day check-in event. Anyone who joins the Boot Camp server after the anniversary event ends can still take part. The check-in awards a Legendary-grade Valkyrie on Day 7 and a Legendary-grade Disir on Day 14.
Michael Kim, Head of Business Division at WEMADE, said: “This first anniversary is a tribute to the passion and dedication of our global community. We have intentionally curated an extensive content roadmap designed to reward loyal veterans while providing a streamlined onboarding pathway for newcomers and returning players. With sustained updates leading into December and an upcoming YMIR Cup Season 3, we look forward to delivering even deeper immersion within the Legend of YMIR universe in the year ahead.”
WEMADE hasn’t said when YMIR Cup Season 3 will start. The official Legend of YMIR website and Discord have the full event details.
