Farming Season cracks down on bots, freezing 5,578 farms and recycling 7.2 million SEASON into its reward pool

farming season cracks down on bots freezing 5578 farms and recycling 7 2 million season into its reward pool In Brief:

In Brief:

  • Farming Season (official site) announced on Oct. 27 that 5,578 farms have been frozen for cheating, with bot networks accounting for most of them.
  • According to the team, 7,235,809 SEASON taken from frozen balances is already back in the reward pool, and roughly 2 million more will be added over the coming days.
  • Every SEASON reward comes out of a single shared pool, so each cheating farm pulls rewards away from people who play by hand.

In an Oct. 27 post on X, the Farming Season team said it had frozen 5,578 farms for cheating and moved 7,235,809 SEASON from their balances back into the game’s reward pool.

Roughly 2 million additional SEASON is “to be added to the reward pool in the coming days,” according to the team.

“Every day, people try to cheat their way into the reward pool. Bots, scripts, fake results. Most players never see it,” the team wrote.

Bot networks account for most frozen farms

Of the frozen farms, 4,801 belonged to bot networks. The team described them as “Farms opened in batches and run in sync by one operator. Not players, factories.”

Forged results led to 499 more freezes. Those cases involved “Fake battle results, sped-up runs, loot no real run could ever earn,” per the team.

The remaining 278 farms were frozen over scripts and modified game code. According to the team, that group covered “Auto-clickers, dodge tools, macros and edited game code in the arena.”

Frozen balances return to the pool after 48 hours

Freezing a farm does more than shut it down. The team said the farm’s balance is moved into the reward pool 48 hours after the freeze, “the same pool every honest farmer’s rewards are paid from.”

Under the player guide, a frozen farm that isn’t reopened inside that 48-hour window loses its balance to the pool.

“Every bot we catch doesn’t just stop draining the pool. It refills it,” the team said.

The team linked the crackdown to a new pool balancer. The post announced the balancer but gave no details on how it works. “Together with the new pool balancer, this is how we keep the reward pool alive for the long run. Cheaters take from everyone. We give it back to the people who actually play,” the team said.

Fair-play rules

On automation, the guide doesn’t mince words: “Scripts, bots or macros running farms get them frozen.” Players are allowed to run more than one farm, as long as every one of them is played by hand.

According to the guide, “Everything is checked on the server.” Harvests, timers, purchases and battle results all go through that check, and the team says this is how it spots modified clients and forged arena runs.

Town Hall level sets the earnings cap, which runs from $1.50 a day at level 1 to about $40 at level 5. Withdrawal limits climb with level too and reset at 00:00 UTC.

Pool economics

The game recently reworked how in-game spending is divided. The reward pool’s share went from 50% to 75%, while the burn share dropped from 50% to 25%. The guide says the 25/75 split applies to in-game spending as well as marketplace and bank fees, and all energy purchases go to the pool.

Prior to the change, 255,199,250 SEASON, or 25.52% of supply, had been burned and verified on-chain, the team said.

Background

Season 1 opened at 16:00 UTC on Oct. 19, the same moment the SEASON token contract went live on Robinhood Chain. New players pay a one-time entry fee worth $1 in ETH on Robinhood Chain.

The team wrote in an Oct. 26 post: “In just two weeks, 20,000 farms have been planting, crafting, fighting in the Battle Arena and racing in the Arena Cup.” The Arena Cup carries a $3,000 weekly prize pool, and the game also pays out a daily $500 creator pool in SEASON.

The anti-cheat post closed with a brief message to players: “Play by hand, play fair, keep farming.”
