Two cars, no cost. No subscription attached. And a cutoff of August 31.
That’s the entire offer, and it’s the sort of promotion that slips past people precisely because Sony didn’t announce it with much fanfare. A fresh PlayStation update makes two freebies available without a PlayStation Plus membership — something that happens less often than you’d expect.
The complication is the countdown. This one has an expiry date, so waiting around isn’t a plan.
The Gran Turismo World Series is doing the giving
Round two of the Gran Turismo World Series is now underway, and Sony is celebrating it together with developer Polyphony Digital. A gift campaign is live at the moment, handing players two free cars in Gran Turismo 7.
PlayStation Plus isn’t part of the equation here. That bears repeating, given how many of Sony’s “free” promotions arrive with a monthly charge bolted on.
You have to watch, not just click
There are two separate broadcasts involved, and each one earns you a single freebie. Both are viewable straight from inside Gran Turismo 7 via an in-game menu, so there’s no need to dig around in a browser to find them.
Straightforward enough — provided redemption goes as intended, which leads to the part Sony would probably prefer to keep out of the headline.
There’s a known problem with the codes
Claiming the reward may not run smoothly. An ongoing issue is flagged on a PlayStation 5 support page, and it’s worth revisiting for updates should you hit a snag.
Sony laid out the situation this way: “Following the start of the ‘Gran Turismo World Series Round 2 – Tokyo’ Manufacturers Cup live broadcast, an issue occurred that prevented some users from submitting their entries for the ‘Viewers Gift Campaign’ displayed at the top right of the World Map screen in Gran Turismo 7. We have temporarily suspended entries for the campaign while we investigate the issue and work towards a resolution. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
In other words, entries have been put on hold while Sony works through the problem. Either way, don’t lose track of that August 31 deadline.

The PS5’s year, briefly
The road ahead looks reasonably solid for the PlayStation 5. Yes, the PlayStation 5 Pro absorbed a steep price increase, but first-party titles keep arriving, and Sony has just released Marvel Tokon, publishing it on behalf of developer Arc System Works.
Lined up behind that: Ghost of Yotei DLC, Silent Hill: Townfall and Marvel’s Wolverine, all still to come. The cars, by contrast, are here today.
And this is the detail that lifts the promo above the usual noise. Sony states that these rewards are “not available for purchase in-game,” so the campaign is the sole way to get them — whether you collect cars seriously or simply fancy a couple of new toys to mess about with in Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 5.
