Parallel has settled the prize structure for Monthly Melee 1, and a Skeleton Key sits at the top of it.

The key goes to whoever wins. A Prime Variant follows in second, with a Parallel swag bundle in third. The studio laid out the breakdown on X, calling the prizes finalized for MM1.

Both of the lower placings come with some flexibility rather than a set reward. Whoever finishes second picks a PV card out of a collection, and the third-place finisher decides how the swag bundle is put together.

What the key does

Skeleton Key belongs to a trio of Parallel keys that skip the flat PRIME or XP bonus, the other two being the Champion’s Key and the Prime Key.

Its trick is shapeshifting. Echelon’s documentation states that it becomes a different random key every day, drawn from ones the holder is missing in their Keyframe.

Competition is also the theme of Champion’s Key, the other key of that type. Every ranked win it produces carries a small chance of a free ticket into a high-stakes tournament.

The second-place pick

Among Parallel’s variant classes, PV shares space with Echo, First Edition, Special Edition, Perfect Loop, Native Language and Artigraph. The classes aren’t universal — not every card appears in each one, and Artigraph treatment is limited to Base Set cards.

A variant boost to PRIME earnings comes attached to the rarer classes, and PV is considered chase-tier. With the Haven expansion, Parallel gave its Prime Variants an anime-inspired look that departed from how earlier PV releases were styled.

What the studio hasn’t detailed is which cards fill the collection the runner-up draws from, or what the swag bundle actually contains.

What the announcement leaves out

The prize post says nothing about a date, a format, the size of the field or how players qualify. Parallel tagged it “(1/2),” so a second part is coming.

Background

Parallel’s flagship competitive circuit operates as the Parallel Prime League, a season-based setup brought in to replace the older Parallel League branding.

High Stakes Tournaments in the client distribute PRIME across the top 16, with the biggest payout plus an exclusive in-game title reserved for the champion. Monthly Melee 1, going by the announcement, hands out assets and merchandise rather than currency.
