Immortal Rising 2 switches on Pet Awakening, lifting the pet ceiling to Level 400

immortal rising 2 switches on pet awakening lifting the pet ceiling to level 400 In Brief:

In Brief:

  • Pet Awakening is now live in Immortal Rising 2, allowing pets to be awakened as far as five stars while pushing the maximum pet level to 400.
  • Pets that go through awakening hold on to their current level, attributes and skills, and pick up significant base stat increases.
  • The addition builds on the Pet System that Bad Beans launched in June, one of several items the studio sketched out in its January developer letter.

Immortal Rising 2 has switched on Pet Awakening, a progression layer that carries pets past their current caps to five stars and a top level of 400.

Nothing players have already built gets lost along the way. Level, attributes and skills all carry through the process, and the studio said awakened pets receive significant base stat increases.

Pets landed in June

June's update brought the Pet System online, arriving next to a seasonal Picnic Event and limited-time packages built around Greater Rift runs and Arcane Stone upgrades.

Rather than occupying a cosmetic slot, pets fight at the side of Immortals. Players deploy them across stages, arenas and rifts, and the June rollout delivered on something the community had asked for repeatedly.

Awakening hands that system a second growth axis. Pet power previously stopped at the original level ceiling; the five-star track and the 400 cap push it further.

Monthly updates keep landing

Bad Beans has kept to a monthly release schedule. The July patch opened Guild War pre-registration, raised the stage ceiling from 3,000 to 4,000 and introduced two systems, the Divine Beast Cradle and Equipment Auto-Forge.

May saw the studio extend Greater Rift Abyss to Stage 60. Guild War has sat on the roadmap since 2025, when it was listed alongside SSS-grade Symbols, a third SSS-grade equipment set and a skin system.

Roots in the January letter

The pet work traces back to a developer letter published around Jan. 23 and signed by GM Dubu. It described a rebuild of the game’s core systems, with progression clarity, build diversity and long-term grind incentives as the goals.

Among the letter’s promises were a full skill system renewal, a reworked guide quest flow, a new Earth attribute and U5 and U6 grade Arcane Stones. It also committed to a sequential rollout of a Skin System and a Pet System built to fight alongside players.

Not all of it landed on schedule. The Skin System had originally been penciled in for the second half of 2025 before sliding into the 2026 cycle.

The money and the token

Bad Beans develops Immortal Rising 2, with Planetarium Labs — the studio behind Nine Chronicles — handling publishing. The game runs on Immutable zkEVM.

Animoca Brands led a Series A that brought Planetarium Labs more than $32 million. The game itself took a separate $3 million round in March 2025, closing it as the Immortal Statue NFT sale wrapped ahead of the March 27 token generation event.

That round drew Spartan Group, Immutable, MARBLEX, Comma3 Ventures, Sovrun, 32-Bit Ventures, Notch Ventures and angel investors.

IMT debuted across Ethereum and Immutable, with total supply capped at 1 billion tokens and a progressive unlock schedule stretching 48 months from TGE. It works as a governance and staking asset instead of a game currency; players earn Starlight from competitive content and convert it into IMT at a rate the foundation can change.

By the time of the March 2025 raise the game had passed 8.8 million downloads, according to Immutable co-founder Robbie Ferguson. Its predecessor, Immortal Rising, pulled in more than 2 million downloads and spent eight months as the top idle RPG in South Korea.
